The size falls between 1/12 and 1/6. Another 3 inches and he'd be a good 1/6 Swampy. Love this character, mainly due to the amazing Alan Moore comic run in the 80s.

I forgot McFarlane is 1/10, but an extra 3" would make him a little over 7 feet tall in 1/6 and I'd take one of those, too.

Really like this Swamp Thing's sculpting and size. He reminds me of a Dungeons and Dragons Shambling Mound monster, and bought him to go with my Mythic Legions. Also has some Iron Maiden "Eddie" vibes in the face, IMO. Thinking of buying another to paint and add some branches and more leaves/shrubbery to him. You are correct about the standing, he is a shelf dive waiting to happen, you'd think a larger figure would have better balance? Great to see you again Anthony!

Besides the sheer size and closely related variations of paint, I love the sculpt work of this figure. Side note: For fans of pro wrestling (namely WWE), Swamp Thing’s face and head sculpt resembles Masked Kane (at least it does to me [😅]).

You've been doing size comparisons for like a year now, but thanks for doing them even when the product being reviewed isn't in 1/12 scale. As a primarily 1/12 collector it helps a lot since I use it to quickly see what can be fudged into my collection here and there, like the McF Martian Manhunter fitting well enough into 1/12. Helps here too because this looks wonderful and I could use a Swamp Thing but I don't have the shelf space this absolute unit will need.

Awesome figure! I like the character mainly because I enjoyed the 80s films as a kid. He also kinda reminds me of the green gargantua Gira from the Toho kaiju films

Great review and breakdown of a very satisfactory articulated statue. Answer to your question of the day: I love swamp thing. But I love any swamp creature character (man-thing, swamp thing, heap, moss man, etc.). I only have two mcfarlane dc figures, this being one of them when he was on a Black Friday sale and he looks good on the shelf with all the other vegetation-based figures.

i think this looks great but i wish he came with more accessories. some vine whips/ tendrils or like an enlarged fist or mace type hand with thorns. could’ve made him look even cooler but i think this is fine for what it is

Finally Sir Anthony, you reviewed one of my favorite figure beside violator and MCU disney moon knight. btw I do not leave them as what they are. I just make customization or a little tweak here and there. For me, there body texture is really nice to paint and to add more details. And they really standsout in the shelf. You should buy the horned one too if its on sale. repainting them would look they are a bit diff figure 😊

I love Swamp Thing and this dude will work in my 6” DC displays since Swamp Thing’s size changes all the time anyway. I think Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing run is probably his some of his work that has aged the best, even compared to Watchmen. Plus, it has a good environmental message without being preachy.

One of 5 McFarlane DC Figures I actually own. I pretty much had to buy this Figure as my only Swamp Thing was a wayyyy undersized 'Glow in the Dark' version from way back in the TV Show era. It was seriously puny. So, despite my strong dislike for McFarlane DC, I got this one.

I like Swamp Thing. I really liked the 2019 TV series and learned to like him more from the Justice League Dark animated movie and by currently reading the Alan Moore run. I bought the New 52 version because I like him more that way. And managed to get him for 15 euros. If he hadn´t been on sale I don´t think I´d gotten him. Regarding the labels and pictures from the boxes they dont match for the most part. This one is labeled Rebirth but can pass as Pre New 52 too. Even the current Firestorm claim to be from the Crisis on Infinite Earths yet the image is from the character´s run in the New 52. PS And recently bought Mongul (a character I really wanted) because found it for sale around 27 euros.

I love Swamp Thing. I wish we could get a proper adaptation that was a true representation of the various comic incarnations. 2 movies, 3 TV shows, and some of them get some elements right, but still get so much wrong. Maybe DC/WB can make an animated movie some day.

I got a platinum no paint version from gamestop with no paint so i still would like to get this i just hate buying the same figure twice .

in my country every action figure costs about 10-15 dollars more than in the US, but believe it or not i found this guy for about 22 dollars. i don't know much about swamp thing, but for that price, his presence must and shall be dominant on my shelf

I loved the Swamp Thing live action show on DC Universe! I really don’t understand why his show was cancelled. It was WAY BETTER than the other DC Universe shows like Titans and Doom Patrol in my opinion!

It was cancelled solely because partway into production, DC/WB lost the tax incentives (budget reduction) that North Carolina offered. Basically the show became way more expensive to continue. And rather than pay the extra money, or pay whatever budgetary increase it would have cost to relocate the show to film elsewhere, some gutless loser Executive just decided to axe the entire production and fire everyone. Because Studio Executives are trash people.

I'm a HUGE Swampthing fan. I got this when it came out. I love it. I wanted to build Justice League Dark and All. But no Zatanna yet. Which I fear he will mess up anyway. When it comes to Todd, he is hit and miss and most of the time at his best when it's a monster character or Batman. He makes a lot of Superman and most suck. Speaking of that he has yet another one that looks awful and selling for 40 bucks. But I love the character. I have read almost everything he was in. Seen both cheesy movies and every show including the last one that sadly got canceled. However, James Gunn showed there is a movie in plan with his phase one. Hopefully, they cast someone good for Doctor Holland. Usually when they Cast Alec Holland, they also cast someone for Swampthing. But I think this time he will spring for CGI. So like Hulk, the same actor will do both Dr Holland and Swampthing. Yep I love swampthing. LOL OH, and I watched the lame 90's cartoon. And also agree with others he is one of the most powerful heroes in DC.
