Found a little tip for the legs and vest portions of the Mcfarlane DC Multiverse figures. You can do a hot water pop with the legs and arms so you can get the diaper and vest parts off without making any cuts. The McFarlane line is a Custom figure maker's friend when you want to swap out parts and paint
@nicholassilva30283 жыл бұрын
Was just about to write about that tip. The hot water soak is certainly the best thing to do. I love his work but seeing him take a blade to those soft parts kills me a bit.
@productionssnowland3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. The parts are pretty easy to remove once the figure has been soaked in hot water. To put back the parts in place, I use a blowdryer.
@forsakenV123 жыл бұрын
How much does his customs go for at his shop? Thanks
@artich94803 жыл бұрын
would've actually bought McFarlane's bloodsport if it was painted properly this custom looks fantastic
@tomtudorweaver10783 жыл бұрын
Incredible work, this figure really needed a wash. I imagine it wouldn't be as extensive but the Polka-Dot Man from the same wave could definitely use some darker paint on the brown parts, that and the goggles have unpainted details as do a few other parts on his costume, and a few of the spots are inaccurate colours. Also one of the gauntlets on that figure is sculpted to be open to expel the dots, but it's just grey plastic, in the film it had a multicolour glow which could be quite an interesting thing to try and achieve with a paintjob.
@NomdePlume3373 жыл бұрын
You never cease to blow my mind, Chris. That factory paint job looked nothing like the movie but your paint job looks like Bloodsport just stepped out of your tv screen.
@qcarter3963 жыл бұрын
That's how I wanted my bloodsport figure to look.
@Moobeus3 жыл бұрын
It’s crazy how many of these 10-20 dollar figures have such amazing molded detail that goes completely to waste because the paint jobs are so bad you can’t see it.
@stefangerginov95412 жыл бұрын
I agree. I mean the paint job is kinda fine for what it is but here they didn't even use the proper colors for it.

Love seeing you do the McFarlane figures! Would love to see more!!

Imagine the whole wave being customized to look like the ending. Or a Staro Vs. suicide squad diorama? Great video, I did something similar to mine, I mainly just dry brushed it and made the bronze look rusty.
@RemyXAnarchy3 жыл бұрын
It’s crazy I thought the figure look great before you customized it but you made it look so much better, looking back at the before I was like man I figure looks awful. I guess what I’m trying to say is great job

This is such a nice outfit You should try and make his helmet, I’m gonna try it with EVA foam

As a toy customizer, it hurt watching you cut the vest and diaper off instead heating up the figure
@tonyalmeida56843 жыл бұрын
Exactly!
@somarriba3333 жыл бұрын
I know, right. It's very easy to take the figure apart without cutting it.
@Mateo_Esteban3 жыл бұрын
@jekel thirteen since the figure is a Mcfarlane figure the arms pop out at the shoulders, and at the hip joints you can wiggle the legs off with a screw driver, after the arms and legs are off, the heating up process is simple, you can put the figure in boiling water or use a heat gun/ hairdryer, if using a heat gun be extra careful you might melt the plastic, also wear gloves because the plastic gets hot, and if boiling make sure you don’t burn yourself that way either
You heat up the figure and you can literally take it apart and then put it back together.

Super ironic that I was just thinking to myself while watching the Snyder Cut for the first time last night that I haven't seen you appear on my recommended in over a year or so, and today you just appeared back on my KZbin recommendations!

Pretty cool. Personally i think its a bit too dirty, i like the bronze copperish color to pop more, but he did get that dirty at the end of the film. Its a preference thing.

I wish they had a figure with his face. I just think Idris Elba looks so cool in the suit.
@xxxCrackerJack501xxx3 жыл бұрын
Great work he looks spot on from the film, I don't know why the default figure was so brightly colored, you should have a crack at the Halo Infinite figures from Jazware next they're relatively inexpensive and very hit-or-miss when it comes to the paint/details despite in my opinion being some of the funnest 3 scale figures to pose and mess around with
@moloko9123 жыл бұрын
Because he had bright colours on the concept arts or even on the real costume. The colour filters are made on post production after filming. By the time the colour filters are applied on the movie itself, the toys are already made. Basic stuff
@xxxCrackerJack501xxx3 жыл бұрын
@@moloko912 That makes sense but behind the scenes photos/videos that I assume haven't been touched up his suit still isn't nearly that orange, seems to me McFarlane still could have done a little better in matching it in my opinion
@planetschlock3 жыл бұрын
Even going back to the 1990's, McFarlane toys were always kinda crap in the articulation/posability department but they made it for it in gorgeous detail working and sculpting.
@SlasherIncorporated2 жыл бұрын
Todd has explained that he hates articulation on action figures. Being an artist and therefore having an artist's perspective, he feels that articulation ruins the aesthetic. That's why his figures were basically statues for so long. He started incorporating more articulation in recent years after realizing and accepting that that's where the market is. That is what collectors want. However, I think he's trying to do it in a way that pleases both himself and the consumers...and as a result, articulation and posability on his current stuff is perhaps not what it needs to be and has people disappointed.
