Ya man, pretty slick little knife. VG-10 is a good steel also for edc as it’s very stain resistant

From a knife guy rather than a fishing guy….VG10 (V gold 10) is a high carbon Japanese steele. High carbon steele’s are prone to rusting and corrosion when not oiled with Camellia. Therefor that’s probably the oil they put on it. Even though VG10 had less carbon then say white paper or blue paper steele. It’s still higher than most with 1% carbon. I’d recommend getting some Camilla oil from Amazon and apply lightly after use. Especially if used near or in water. Probably one of the best Steele’s for cooking or de boning fish etc

Thanks for the recommendation. I own about 40 knives, I collect them as well. I’ve got many VG10 knives. It does need to be taken care of no question I agree. It’s stain-less steel not stain proof. However it sure keeps from rusting much better than my 1095’s. Haha! Yeah I usually run a bit of oil on my knives after cleaning them and before putting them away for storage
