Thank you for taking your time to teach me. Very informative for a beginner and I’ll be archiving this one for reference.

The cape is the back of the bird not the chest. Capes come from...as you guessed it by now, where you would wear a cape. On your back.

Good to know, see like I said I’m not a bird breeder and don’t know where the parts of the bird come from, just know what to use when tying. Thanks for the info.

Have you made 1 for hairs as well?

No not yet…. I’ll try to work on that. So like deer hair, Eli hair and such?

@@McFlyAngler yea cause I'm sure that hairs can be just as particular as the feathers are. I have a few things I've done with elk hair but it's a hit or miss kinda thing for me right now. If I've made 5 hair style flies I've made 1 good one. It's the bunching of the hair and getting it tight enough. I'm just not exactly sure which hairs are best or better for what types of flies. Keep up the good work. Lots of us are learning from you. This clip was actually saved on my fly study guide folder thing on here. Thank you much

Awesome glad to hear I’m helping ya. Thanks for the kind words; always good to hear it. So I’ll do my best, however I can’t say I know enough about the different hairs as I should. I’ll do my best to soon.

@@McFlyAngler it's fair.... and I'm definitely not asking you to pop quiz yourself either, nor am I asking for anything in a month or two. Just an idea for a new video since you do not have one yet

I use Metz, whenever possible. As long as my budget handles it.

I wonder how to keep feathers and skin from being damaged, and dry? That product make me so curious 😂

Oh I just keep my feathers in the bags usually. Then keep them in little plastic boxes with like style feathers for storage. You could get those silicone packs and put them in if you want but I find it’s not needed. I have feathers that are 8+ years old and they still work just fine.

Was your question answered as expected or did you mean out of its storage container during its usage?
