Nice to know I'm not the only one who forgets to put the ground on. 🙃 Haha, it's always when I just get settled in to weld. Another great video!

Wasnt it better to add a piece of plate up against the horizontal bar where you welded the chains onto just for extra strength incase the chains get pulled on. Like it is there it will just rip off off the metal. 2nd question...does that foldable hinges come in different weight catagories per boat sizes? Or is it one size fits all
@mcfwelding Жыл бұрын
Not sure if there are different weight ones. They are sized for the metal your trailer is made from
@nevillesmith9795 Жыл бұрын
@@mcfwelding noted thank you for the feedback. I guess then when they are fabricated according the metal size then it should be strong enough for that particular vehicle.👍🏼

Nice work . Have you ever built any porch gates? When I got too old to lift a lot and roll around under stuff I built a few and that turned into more than I could keep up with. Check out King metals for parts. If you can stand to work for them, women love a fancy porch gate LOL

Bolt on tongue jack would be fine for that aluminum boat and trailer. Then he can move in front or behind the pivot as he prefers.

Awesome work 👍👍👍 were you using the 225x for the stick welding? If so how do you like it compared to the Everlast?

Both run 7018 pretty decent

Hi man nice videos i got a question, do you need a lisence to run the little shop? Like the name of a company or something? Not for welding certificate cuz i know is for structural or cilinders etc but do i need a permit to do a side jobs like you ? For example some client ask for number of lisence ? Great videos man i live in oregon and i got the same problems with the weather sometimes

Not sure.. I work for cash

Matt! I would like to slowly get into repair and fab work like you are doing as I am just a hobby welder and fab guy right now. Do you have insurance? And if you don’t are you worried someone will come after you if something breaks that you welded and hurts someone? That’s my biggest fear.. let me know I would appreciate it!

Welding the chains is nowhere near the same as bolting them. That trailer comes off, those chains will just be decorations dragging behind the tow vehicle
@joecool4836 Жыл бұрын
Depending on state DOT regulations you can't weld the chain directly to the trailer.
@mcfwelding Жыл бұрын
I've seen lots of chains welded to lots of trailers
@acecoors Жыл бұрын
@@mcfwelding I doubt you’ve seen as many as you think. Most have a clip ran thru the last link. The clip is what’s welded. Not the chain itself. But regardless, even if you’ve seen some backyard trailers that have the chains welded, that doesn’t change a thing. A chain that’s been welded will snap every time, and it’s illegal. Just letting you know. Good luck
