True legend for Texas High School Football, I'm sad that he never truly got a shot in the NFL.
@WilddogAB8 жыл бұрын
Yes he did. In 2013 he was on the practice team of 3 nfl teams
@bossmodetimn42008 жыл бұрын
They never disclosed why he got cut from the teams though, how does someone who was that much of a legend in high school football get thrown under the bus even though his college film was good and his combine stats were at an elite level?
@iweartophots8 жыл бұрын
He never really succeeded all that much in college what on earth makes you think he could make it in the NFL. He got rocked in the Big 10 for the season he was there getting 43 carries for 168 yards in conference play. He never had so much as a 100 yard game against a power conference school in college. Nearly 900 yards rushing as a career high at Rice isn't exactly tearing it up. He didn't make it in the NFL because honestly he just couldn't compete against elite athletes. He also doesn't have combine stats because he wasn't invited to the combine so don't know what the fuck you are talking about their. Pro day stats aren't the same thing.
@mystery777king68 жыл бұрын
Well just as someone mentioned in the Above Comments He was Misused by The College Coach because some Coaches are to Egotistical to know how to give a Special Player such as Sam Mcguffie the Right kind of Vote of Confidence, But the greatest Issue is that He should have went to a School that Needed Him, Rice didn't need Him nor did Michigan but the wanted Him for the Attention that it brought the Schools, So why speak that way about the Stats instead of being Intelligent enough to understand the Dynamics of what Goes on behind the Scenes, So I guess that's expecting to much from you because you much have been a SCORE KEEPER STATISTIC CHARTER IN SCHOOL & NOT AN ATHLETE, YOU RAN THE SCORE CLOCK AT SCHOOL OBVIOUSLY WHO HAD NO ATHLETIC SKILL BUT SAM MCGUFFIE WAS AN AWESOME ATHLETE BUT WAS MISUSED INTO INJURIES, BUT YOU MENTIONED NON OF THESE THINGS YOU ROOKIE MINDED MORON*
@iweartophots8 жыл бұрын
Torch Reed Are you his certified ball cleaner or something? Have to be tonsil deep up his ass to get that angry over the fact that he just wasn't that good at the next level when you start seeing more and more amazing athletes. He was on scout teams in the NFL as well. Pro coaches looked at him. They all discarded him because he just wasn't that good. Yeah injuries suck. Then again when you are 190 lbs soaking wet in the big 10 you are going to get rocked.

I agree, look at all of those freshman that start and come in from the bench and play! That comeback against Wisconsin is nothing short of a miracle considering we only had 21 total yards of offense in the first half! A young team like Michigan will be a national title contender in about 2 years when they all are junoirs and when these sophmores are seniors! Plus we have talented running quarterbacks coming in (Beaver and Forcier). We'll get better next year, and do great things in 2 years!

I completely agree with. McGuffie started the first few games as a true freshman! He got hurt, and wasn't the same since, but he has come up with CLUTCH receptions on 3rd down or during our 2 minute drills. We have 48 freshman, 32 sophmores, 19 junoirs, and 15 seniors. In 2010, we'll have either Shavodrick Beaver or Tate Forcier runnin our offense, not threet or sheridan, we'll have a total of 80 upperclassman, RR will have his recruits, and we'll be back, next year will be better, but 2010 man!

I attended school with Sam. I had english, all my science courses, & even helped him out with latin (being an A student) in high school. All that talk about how him transferring colleges is what ruined his college football career & crap...I hate that! I recall him being under a lot of pressure for college decisions senior year of hs, & his transfer from Michigan had to do with being too far from home. He's still playing at Rice. You can't deny the fact: SAM IS ONE HELL OF A RUNNING BACK!

He's quick, agile and has a great eye for the holes, which means you have to give credit to the blocking. Some running backs make it happen without the blocking (Sanders) but I don't think McGuffie would be nearly as good as he is without his blockers.

"You guys got a hell of a player barring injury." I totally agree with you. i expect McGuffie to be invited to new York at least once. I'm just saying that i wouldn't start him as a TRUE FRESHMEN, especially considering we already have three seasoned veterans in Brown, Minor, and Grady. I would give him a few carries a game as a substitute, then when he is a junior and senior, I'd make him the full time starter. He is indeed a special player, and fits RR's offense perfectly
