I'm 64 now and I only remember the reruns in syndication fm 1967 - 1973 on KTVU San Francisco. No memory of the prime time episodes of McHales Navy at all. But as usual most of the 1960's TV comedy shows were outrageously funny.

ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME - THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.

My dad was a USMC Marine. He had a barber's razor strap hanging on the wall by the back door. If myself or my sister got out of line we felt that strap on our bare asses bent over. Something a lot of kids today never had from their parents, strict discipline. 🇺🇸

What a terrific episode. Some really clever humour. I love how Binghampton slaps carpenter and says, "Oh shut up, you're just a miniature him'. This isnt an episode I remember so I thank the channel so much for uploading.

Didn't Mickey Rooney have many children though? I remember a joke on MASH about a parade going on and Hawkeye calls it the "sons and daughters of Mickey Rooney" lol.

I am surprised McHale didn't explain properly why he was: 'running from the enemy' so he wouldn't endanger the little brat. That was a little bit annoying.🙄 But great stuff, as usual. (Hooked on McHale - just discovered it recently and l am watching ALL the episodes again for the second time. 😂

Amazing that tough talking admiral, said he'd paddle his spoiled rotten kid himself (24:15), but it's clear he never did; no the admiral said (24:20) if he had any more trouble with his son, he'd send him to McHale to do the discipline. But that's how the story goes, expecting viewers to forget that high ranking officials' kids are the most self-absorbed brats in spite of the discipline their parents dole out on others.

Many of these stories are based on real events that happened to the crews of the PT Boats or other services so it does make me wonder if there was some sort of true story to provide the idea for the episode?
