Blue eyed Japanese . Those guys were a great ensemble cast . The downfall was moving the scene from the Pacific to Italy where Borgnine could speak Italian .

That is something you will not see today in 2024 , the whole crew disguised as Japanese . Also note John Wright playing guitar . his parents were country music stars .

Bernie Kopell appeared on this episode as the Colonel. Gavin McLeod appeared as part of the crew . Some 14 years later they co starred together on The Love Boat .Speaking of TLB according to IMDb only Bob Hastings of Mc Hales Navy appeared on that show . No other Mc Hales regulars not even surprisingly Borgnine or Conway !

Love Mchale's Navy. Great memories of me and my pop watching it together in the afternoon. Love Ernest Borgnine movies, he's a very talented actor.

Ernest Borgnine did this for the money, when he realized that more Americans were watching TV then going to the movies. At that time it was a new paradigm.

This show is the ultimate. Being a Navy veteran they really nailed it even down to the hair cuts. I just wished that they would have made 8 seasons. Great show and great actor's and actresses.
