@captainbly200 They're entering the terminal to go towards their respective gates, to head back to NJ. Most likely it's rush hour. NJT has somewhere around 60 or so routes which run daily from North, Central and South Jersey to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan, and 7 routes which run from North Jersey to George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal in Uptown Manhattan near the Bronx.

Fares depends on where you are going, like for example, Rt 159 to Fore Lee is $3.40. If you want to get off at bergenline ave, thats about a dollar or so

Depends on the route and zone. NJT is statewide.

@P40BH Oh yeah,same thing. The RTS buses are being phased out too. GM first owned the RTS buses. Then a company caaled TMC owned them. And last, it's owned right now by Nova. And Nova bus has discontinued the RTS buses. The main reason why NJ Transit is buying so many of those new NABI buses. Nova isn't going to be producing any more parts for the RTS. MTA is already been replacing RTS buses.

@DrSurprise North and South Jersey have different fares, so it depends. Base adult fare for Northern NJ one-zone intrastate is $1.50 (2 zones $2.35, 3 is 2.90, etc). Senior/child fare is lower. To PABT from North Bergen, Union City, Weehawken, West New York, Hoboken, or Guttenberg, it's $3.20 (2 zones, interstate). Elsewhere, it's 3 zones ($4.40) or higher. As far as fare cheaters are concerned, drivers have to be vigilant. Many ask passengers for their destination when paying only one zone.

I work for NJT. They will get a fine from NJT police if it gets reported and get caught again; or go to jail for fair evasion.

I'm not entirely sure, i've never rode on NJT routes. Only when I was like 6 I rode but that was way too early lol

but whats not to say that someone says they will get off at bergen ave and only pays $1 but instead stays on the bus all the way to fort lee? the passenger lied just so he could save money. how is this regulated?

@captainbly200 As far as the Flxibles are concerned though, sadly they're retired, replaced by NABIs (as seen in this video on the 156 line).

@P40BH it's not about being rich really. NJ transit moves alot of people.70% of NJ transit buses are MCI coaches,30% are other types of buses like neoplans,flxibles which are being retired as we speak, and the new NABI buses that are replacing them.

This video had to be taken just around the evening rush hour. Those buses line up on 40th street, and 10th avenue to get into PA. I drive a bus, and I can tell you, if your a driver, and your run is at 5:45pm, you better be on one of those lines like at 4:30 because there's like half a million people going back into NJ on the weekdays. Friday's is the WORST!

@MasterKhem your not kidding. It all depends on what bid you pick! I drive for Coach USA, but I'm more with Grayline New York now, which is owned by Coach USA. I just wanted something that was local instead of traveling long distance all the time.

A lot of the bus drivers have good memory lol, they will call you out if you try to do that. Every now and then though, you can get lucky.
