Thanks John, in actually operating the MTI-100,, we haven't had issues with the tubes blocking the arm lift - although it does look like it might

Hi Vincent, thanks for commenting. Yes, it's a manual 'table, so we suggest adding one of the many aftermarket tonearm "lifters" that automatically lift a manual 'table's tonearm once it reaches the end of the record. As this is both an amp and a turntable, McIntosh opted to not have a dust cover, so as to ventilate the heat and extend the life of the product.

The style reminds me of my MA-252, cool & retro. If the style isn't you taste, there are other options. When you see them in person, well..... Just my 2 cents.

Agreed Jay, the look of McIntosh is either something one likes, or not. Those who enjoy the retro styling love it. There are other options if it is not one's cup of tea

Hello Herbie, McIntosh's tuner technology is legendary. They made a choice not to include it as so many folks are now streaming internet radio stations - but yes, it would be even cooler if a tuner was also included.
