I agree that counter strike is generally the better ult, but man you can do some cool plays with deadly charge. You can ambush their squishy backline from out of nowhere or when being chased, go to bush so they lose los for that one second and charge to safety with your ult. Or you can even use it for dmg in 1vs1 if timed correctly. Great video btw, going to try e build next time.

I play a lot of alarak in quickmatch, and I pick talents based on enemy comp. If I need to be dive or the enemy team is mostly melee, I like going for the melee build (ext. lightning, chaos reigns, *varies*, deadly charge, sadism from autoattacks, whatever the 16 talent is that adds sadism to auto attack, *varies*) and I find that works a lot better for me than lightning because I often end up solo 1v1 and don't find much opportunity to stack. Against a traditional team comp though I almost always go the standard build. I think the alternatives for Alarak are edge cases where the enemy team comp is weird.

Try one of those one lane brawls. If you get Alarak, go for this build. It's cramped all the time, so the number of your stacks and damage is going to be ridiculous very quickly

In my experience, getting rid of their forts pressures them into destroying them instead of battling for the objective. It used to be the strongest map for Sylv before the rework in that respect, how is claiming forts not useful? It's often led to many games won on the map. You lads got the forts and that helped win it.

Unless you get rid of all the forts they can still prioritise objective over reclaiming 1-2 forts and leave that til after objective phase. Getting forts only helps you win faster or lose slower but it s how likely you are to get obj that matters, even if you have to fire it 40 times that s still a win.

very good guide for alarak, but i question your strats regarding denying experience by stalling the lane. isn't stalling the lane actually create larger ally minion = big exp bundle for the enemy? isn't it better to just push to the fort and let the tower kill your minion quickly and denying the exp if the enemy isn't coming?

The way I understand it, perhaps in low elo, if you push the exp it will die. But in mid to high ELO you expect regular rotations. Pushing the lane doesn't garentee they will lose the xp, and also groups the xp up. Also then the wave is near their side of the map (faster rotations/your more vulnerable) Basically pushing the lane can be countered, where a stalled lane you control, and can insure they get none. If that makes sense.

I can't seem to get my head around the letting minions kill yours mechanic when in lane solo. Do you get XP for your minions dying as well as theirs? IDK why but i don't get it. I watched another video with that and the focus of the video was on laning and xp and i still didn't get it there either. Is it simply about denying easy minion kills to your enemy by keeping the XP generating minions near your towers and not theirs? Can someone do like a full on explanation for why it gives you the xp advantage?

You don't get XP for your minions, it's just easier to deny exp of your enemies (which you pointed out correctly) and it's much safer to let enemy minions come to your wall than to overextend yourself

If you kill the enemy minions, your minions (the ones that give xp to the enemy) will stop dying until another wave of minions come (which is slow and thus gives more time for your enemies to react and come and soak that wave) or until your minions reach enemy structures (where they will die way faster than against enemy minions, but that will leave you more vulnerable). So, in order to get the best of both worlds, which is making your minions die in absence of enemy heroes, and not leaving yourself vulnerable in the process, is basically being afk next to the minions. Your minions kill enemy minions granting you xp, and enemy minions kill your minions denying xp for the enemies because no enemy hero is present.

If a good Zagara can hold her lane and push like crazy you don't need the full team for an objective. Because thye have to reply to her push, if they don't she just gets free value. (that doesn't apply to Towers of Doom though.

@@HisokaYohoho It's a fine line. Splitpushing, ignoring an objective, accepting free push, good Zagaras do all that, but they know when to show up to an objective.

@@TheHidalgo99 I will rephrase it: if you dominate your lane, you can have a 3 level advantage (even had a 5 level advantage once lol), in those case you don't need Zag on objectives. If you notice that your team is losing the fights though you should come to them, because you might be able to help (even though Zagara doesn't have that much team fight capability if you take Nydus).

you did mention that you take Pure Malice at 13, but looks like you misclicked and took Blade of the Highlord instead (which is easily the worst lvl 13 alarak talent). Your sadism would've been quite a bit higher with pure malice.

Against a pyroblast kt yes counter strike is a must, but I'm one of those Alarak mains who pick deadly strike. At 9:57 if you had deadly charge those 2 would have been dead for example.

For abilities you cannot say if you had this thing that one or two times only it would have been better. (Those people often dismiss the times the chosen ability was useful) Imo it s like what he said about zuljin ults in aba vid. Why would you pick guillotine which requires risky play over tazdingo, an iceblock that let s you move and attack. Counterstrike is also like an iceblock that does dmg.

@@yoannyo913 Damn i also play zuljin and I also prefer guillotine over tazdingo ( have a good winrate) xd mainly because the low cd and good unexpected damage, the other ult, people just play around it in my experience.... well once again each of us play differently :)
