@@ken.7019 One of my favourite fantasy things is when it places fantasy stuff and "realistic" stuff on the same level of importance, something which deadlock has in droves. Like how southern Ixia, part of a separate plane of existence linked to earth by a mystic gateway, is now the 52nd state of the US. Or how you can find advertisements for horn-polishing cream here and there on the map, implying there's a significant population of people in the US with horns now, or the newspaper headline discussing if it is cannibalism to eat werewolf meat, et cetera. I love it and i can't wait to see more of the backstory.

"its just filters" or "its just the camera they use" but just smacking a filter on it or using a particular thing will not automatically make stuff look good. its about how you use it. how you frame the object you are filming. its about lighting and a hell of a lot more things that we don't evenknow or consider when watching the completed project. just saying such a thing you did is really minimising the amount of work, talent and experience that goes in to choosing just that filter, framing, lighting angle and so much more that goes into getting it to look like that, how he wanted it to look. just to successfully convey a feeling and a vibe to the viewer.

I will always love the voice work and details that get put into the visuals that Valve will always be on their A-game with. Even digging into the files and being able to listen to voice lines that are and aren't yet implemented yet, how many lines there are for individual situations and characters, conversations between most characters that go back and forth for a few voice lines (channel Dedlocko has videos up showcasing those and I hope there will be a way to hear those in game later on). Also, I gotta say, Deadlock got me up out of a gaming dry spell too, been playing it constantly almost every day.

When they first made Deadlock, the code name started as Project 8, because the first 7 projects are 1) Half life 2) Team Fortress 3) Counter-strike 4) Day of defeat 5) Portal 6) Left 4 dead 7) Dota Then it was changed into Neon Prime, Citadel, and eventually Deadlock known as today. The maker of Deadlock is Ice Frog, which he already have 50 heroes ready over the course of 10 years that he worked on. He's a big fan of Slark from Dota since he made Dota as well, and that's why we're seeing a lot of resemblance of Slark and Clockwerk in Deadlock. The temporarily name being used in Deadlock for Slark is Slork, and Clockwerk as Wrecker. These names are probably going to change in the future. One thing we do know from Ice Frog is that he really takes his time balancing the game he makes, unlike League of Legend. During The International when they had 100+ heroes for Dota 2, it was only about 1-2 heroes that were locked while 98% of the other heroes were able to be picked for The International. If you look at T1 tournaments in League, they can only pick like 30 champions while the rest are all banned from playing. That's the biggest difference when it comes to balance. I think many of us love Deadlock because it's so refreshing to finally be able to play a MOBA and an FPS that works so well together, and players who have been playing MOBA or FPS for years have been waiting for 10+ years on a game like Deadlock. The game doesn't punish you for losing, but you still get +30 points MMR for performing well in game, even if you lose. That's how it should be, instead of being punished for performing well but still lose because of bad team.

The “bug” abt not getting laned with your friend has to do with your hidden mmr. The game prioritizes laning players together and against others who have closer skill ranges. So if your buddy is more skilled than you according to the game it’s gonna pair you with someone on your team closer to your level and against players on the enemy team closer to your level. Really just to help out in laning phase. It might just be an oversight currently and they could make it prioritize laning with who you queued with later. I hardly ever get paired with my friends in lane because they’re all sweats because of it, but my laning phase is much smoother when I’m not with them because I am against players closer to my level.
