In the UK, quite a few years ago, we had a TV series that was called 'An Audience with ........' Great entertainers were invited to perform in front of a celebrity audience. One of them had Billy Connolly as the 'star turn'. I laughed so much at his stories, it was painful. I've watched it again a few times since and still cry with laughter. If you get a chance to watch it on youtube, don't miss it.

Best comedian ever, I’m incredibly lucky to have seen him live twice, both times my sides ached for days from laughing. The second time was with my then 18yr old son, he had bought me the two tickets for Mother’s Day. During the show he was so incapable with laughter that he actually slid off his chair into a heap on the floor 😂

This made me remember growing up on the Wirral (North West England) and how often you would RUN to jump on the platform, as the bus wad pulling away from the stop OR jump off the bus while it was moving. No H&S issues to worry about then... Just 'luck of the draw' 😂😂😂

Billy Connolly is great. A master storyteller. It's a shame his content is controlled with an iron fist, majority of all his shows aren't allowed on here, even as short clips. He has so much great stuff that people will never see here.
@Maesterful5 ай бұрын
Why is that?
@LilMonkeyFella875 ай бұрын
@@Maesterful no idea, theres an official page but all they'd have to do is claim any videos others upload and theyd still get any money. They allow hardly anything same with his TV shows, but that's mainly as they are BBC shows.

My parents are Scottish and Billy is my dads favourite comedian and back in the 70’s my dad had a record of Billy’s stand up special so me and my brothers would listen to it and I was like 5-6 years old so Billy and my dad taught me my first swear words lol. When I was in my teens Billy started coming to our city in Canada quite often so my dad and brothers would go see him. My dad lives in the north west territories now and Billy did a documentary touring northern Canada and he went to my dads village and my dad got to meet him.

As a Scot Billy Connelly is a legend, I hope all his stories are true
@gchampi25 ай бұрын
Billy's a legend! Comedian, musician, actor and presenter. He's done them all. A couple of things to watch (if you can find them). Firstly, Water. A feature film with Billy in one of the lead roles. It's hilarious, and also has the nearest to a Beatles reunion possible in it... Secondly, Billy Connolly's Route 66. A TV series where he rides the whole length of the old (pre interstate) Route 66, stopping off at places with interesting stories along the way. It's a fascinating series, both funny and poignant, laughing at some of the absurdities found, while lamenting the loss of identity and livelihood many of the small towns that were bypassed by the modern interstate experienced... Edit:- Route66 is on the "Absolute Jokes" channel on YT. Well worth a look, the 4 episodes are all 45ish minutes long. Perhaps too long for a reaction, YMMV...

Dwarf on a bus is the best story and the Wilderbeast story. One joke made him famous on fParkinson about a guy murdering his wife, still the best joke in the world. Years back he did a song called DEVORCE about a dog its wonderful. I love the very Glasgow word HELLISH.

Due to safety reasons they did away with those double decker buses where you could get on or off at the back now you get on the newer buses in front where driver sit and get off in middle doors unless you are in a wheelchair you can get on in the middle because the ramp is stored under middle doors 3:21

The fact that you understood all of it and found it really funny, there must be some Scottish blood coursing through your veins, even if it's a tiny bit. Billy is the epitome of Scottish humour, there are so many more of his skits that are better than this and are rib busting. Enjoy exploring them 🏴 this is supposed to be our Scottish flag but they forgot to put the white cross of st. Andrew on it...och well...
