Just want to help clear some information up. I’m currently in school to become a doctor and I can explain the left vs right thing with your scars. The scars/port holes are generally going to be oposite of where you are doing a surgery. For example when I was in the operating room removing gallbladders we make the holes on the lower left of the abdomen even though the gallbladder is on the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. The laparoscopy surgical tools are kinda like very long sticks that you can control the end of. So it looks as though they entered your lower right abdomen and did surgery/inspected your lower left colon which is normal for a laparoscopic surgery. Hope this helps!

Just a heads up. You said you woke up quicker this time than last time. I was told if they give you something to relax you before you are wheeled into the operating room you will usually wake up quicker after your surgery. Reason being the anesthesiologist doesnt have to give you as much to get you under because you are somewhat under already. Now is that true??? I dont know. Thats just what i was told by a nurse and it was correct by how my husband acted after each surgery. Nurses see a lot after the fact so I tend to believe it.

I'm surprised they didn't do a colonoscopy beforehand. I had my gallbladder removed 3 months ago. They saw gallstones after the first test I did (ultrasound) and the surgeon still requested an MRI and colonoscopy to rule out any other causes of abdominal pain before going through with actual surgery. He wanted to make sure he wasn't quick with doing a procedure if it wasn't the root cause of my issues.

I had referred pain when my appendix was about to rupture. They actually misdiagnosed me the first day I went in because of it. Went back the next day and they realized it was my appendix and had to have emergency surgery.
