@Nick Rutter @Yvan Lacroix, being in Michigan and dealing with the winter crud, would it be prudent to whip up some waterless wash concentrate, and use that as a pre-treat to a rinseless wash with 914, since thecwaterless wash has more lubrication, to cut through a more stuborn layer of crud?

@yvanlacroix I’m new to the “DIY detailing” scene. could you run through the steps required before applying a ceramic coating? (Not sure if what I have listed below is correct) 1. Spray on rinseless wash and let it sit for a few minutes 2. Use sponge/microfiber mitt to wash/spread the rinseless wash + water solution 3. Use clay bar or clay bar towel (with solution still on car) to remove contaminants 4. Wipe dry with microfiber towel 5. Apply ceramic coating? Appreciate your help!

After step 4 and before step 5, you should polish then wipe with a surface prep such as isopropyl alcohol

It's probably a good idea to measure the cap capacity before you use it to mix the correct dilution as I bought a bottle of N-914 Rinseless Wash and the cap is 1/4 ounce, not 1/2 ounce.

a few questions: so did you use this as a clay lube at 256:1 ? doesn't it recommend 128:1 for clay lube? and in order to clay, are you washing first, then re-applying to clay? or would you just apply the rinse less wash an clay immediately? wouldn't that cause tons of scratches? last question, what is the purpose of the fast wax with the clay bar? is it simply to have a wax on it, if I was going to move on to polishing after claying would the fast wax be necessary?

@Nick Rutter @Yvan Lacroix, at arounnd 13:40, you explain after 914, after Fast Wax (I assume clay mitt as well) you can add in 10 Minute paint sealant. So does this all happen without any in between drying steps, therefore a one and only final drying step, with 10 Minute Paint Sealant being your drying aid? Thank you in advance for your clarification.
@LacroixCruiser4 жыл бұрын
Jay Zstr yes, sorry for the late reply, no notifications. Yes you can add the sealant as an addition to the wax. Fast Wax with N914 acts as your clay lube. Adding the 10 minute sealant will aid in drying and extend the durability of the protection.

Ok so...my last two cars were filthy they've likely not been hand washed in a few years. It took two full hand washes and a detail brush with all purpose to get the mold, debris out of every nook and cranny. Every time I'd hit it with the hose more debris would come out of the emblems, the trim, the drip rails etc... Is there and easier way to attack cars like this than the old fashioned hand wash way? It took me hours and the customer only wants to pay going rates. :(

Everyone, please watch the Grit Guard review done on the Source Garage's channel. It does absolutely nothing to keep dirt at the bottom of the bucket. Per his rather in depth review, the Dirt Lock was far superior
@stephen15033 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen that video, but I’m pretty sure that mostly applies to soap or two bucket washing. Seems in the video the grit guard here is just to keep the water from swirling around when he dunked in his mitt for cleaning. Like he said the water softener will pull the smaller pieces of dirt to the bottom so it’s really not that big of an issue. If someone is worried, multiple wash media is your “safest” bet.
