Also, Worldwide Darts, how do you keep yourself from falling in love with a new dart every week? I find myself with the same issue...always looking for that perfect dart. I personally own the new taylors, wayne mardle's, adrian lewis's, MVG's, mark webster's, RVB's, Stephen Buntings, etc. My problem is i find my fingers getting stuck to the dart on release once in a while. especially when its humid or hot. I know rosin is an answer but ...still hoping i can find a dart that is perfect for the grip.

mvg has my attention. i have tried his set up minus his grip. i would be tempted to try the mckicks if i could get them in soft tip. i currently use target azzuri volares, 17 grams. i am not sure if these fatter barrels are working for me. the mckicks look like their barrels are a little more narrow...

Best guess would be 52mm X 6.4mm Can't say for certain though. But I do know that all the stores have the wrong measurements. NEVER trust a stores dimensions

Here's a pic from TODAY'S Dubai Masters... imgur.com/kDgA8ls Notice the width of the barrel and how the rings/grooves don't indent at all? This is the same grip as the McKicks. If you look at the MasterDarts the grooves are indented. They are narrower than the rest of the barrel. Nothing I've seen gives me any indication that these are Masterdarts

You know more about the marketing etc than i do but what would be the reason why MVG would secretly use an old dart? I mean Target goes through a ton of prototypes for Taylor why wouldn't MVG's company make the darts he wants instead of secretly using an old dart?

And from the same tournament you posted this pic from.. when they introduced him and Peter Wright the graphic they put on the screen said he uses 23g xqmax darts. Unless they're wrong too?

Michael only signed with XQ Max a couple years ago? Like I've said in the review, he's been using the darts we see since around 2007. Long before XQ Max came into the picture. So yes, the on screen graphic is wrong. And if you have a look on Darts Corner forum or Dartsnutz forum it's not really that big of a secret that he uses these darts.

Worldwide, now I'm even more confused because if you watch MVG vs Lewis semi final Premiere league from last week MVG's darts have no black rings. So if he felt comfortable to use a different dart than the MCKICKS on FINALS NIGHT why use both?

The lighting on stage will make it look like they have black rings but it's really just a plain tungsten dart. He uses the same old set of darts 99% of the time. What you see here is an 11 minute video. What you don't see is the long hours of research and talking to MvG's friends to gather all this info. But unless MvG himself gives us an answer, which he won't because of contract reasons, then we'll never know for sure.

I had asked Wayne Mardle what his favorite non-target made dart was and he answered MVG's. Now i want to go back and ask him which ones =). But the McKicks darts have black rings on them no? So are you saying he uses old MasterDarts 99% of the time or the McKicks?

And other question i had for you is how do you keep yourself loyal to one dart for tournament or league play when you're constantly reviewing and falling in love with new darts? I have the same issue. I'm in search of the perfect level of grip for someone with soft hands like myself. I've tried all levels of grip from steven buntings and ted hankeys (basically no grip) to wayne mardle's and phil taylor's pixelated grip (too much grip). Right now I'm throwing Mark Webster's dart which i quite like. Any helpful tips on finding the right dart and sticking with it?

I have recently bought a set just to try and my sister is a real good player, she had a throw with them and she said they are "no way" the darts MVG uses. She met him sometime last year and they swapped darts and had a game, she said they felt amazing when she was throwing with them!

I bought a set of Red Dragon Hellfire B 24 gram darts of ebay for $21.83 total shipped. The came brand new in the Red Dragon wrapper and I weighed them as soon as I received them. All 3 are within .04 gram each other. Those are 80% tungsten. I also purchased some rebels in both 21g and 23gram from the same seller on ebay for about $30 which are 90% tungsten and they are also very nice and all within .05 gram of each other. In my experince so far I've had better luck with the cheaper darts being close in weight. I have a set of darts that were 50 something closer to $60 and the are just barely within .1 gram of each other.

New info just came up last week from Bulls Darts. Turns out Bulls Darts makes/owns McKicks. The factory is right next to where MvG lived back in the day. The guy I talked to at Bulls claims that they are McKicks. This also goes with an old interview where Michael claims that he tried his friends cheap set of darts and loved them. Been using them ever since. Do you have any links or any proof that they're Masterdarts?

Check his shirt sponsorship when he played in the bdo it was always masterdarts. Never seen no mckicks or bulls. When masterdarts changed there name to xqmax his shirt sponser changed to xqmax. He just kept his old darts which were the same as the new branded xqmax. Them mckicks in a 23g which he throws are about 3mm longer than the masterdart and xqmax.

Chris Underwood He got picked up by MasterDarts after his Master's win. He had already traded in his Taylor darts for the darts we see him with now BEFORE signing with Masterdarts. There are already pics of the MasterDart and McKicks side by side. Same dimensions

He first used Unicorn 26 gram Phil Taylor World Champion darts (saw them with my own eyes in 2006 at a tournament in the Netherlands, look at the match against Adams at the IDL and the World Masters 2006), then when he signed with Masterdarts, he switched to the 25 gram McKicks, he first used these darts against Gary Robson at the Lakeside and I believe that is the exact same worn set he still uses today. These darts were copied by Masterdarts and sold as MVG darts (now XQ Max).
