McLaren in HUGE TROUBLE After Red Bull's SHOCKING ACCUSATION!

▶︎▶︎ Red Bull have found a way to investigate into the advantage that McLaren have gained over the past couple of races, and it seems to be one of the most bizarre ways if the Austrian team manages to prove the FIA that the Woking-based squad have gained a lot of performance in an illegal way. While many were focused on the looks of the cars, especially the bodywork as well as the front wings, McLaren has played in a bit of a gray zone with the brakes, and Red Bull has noticed this and sent an immediate report to the governing body of the sport. But with the FIA deeming the solution legal in the last two races, is there any truth behind these accusations and if so, how big of an advantage can McLaren gain through this ‘innovation’?

Complaining is just a way to verify if FIA allows the “innovation”, if FIA confirms it is not against the rules the complainant and other teams can implement the same on their cars.

Innovation and F1 'generally' dont belong in the same sentence. There is no "innovation". As soon as a team comes up with something new and it gives them an advantage, there are 9 other teams running to have it banned.

Name of the game is not to say your rivals are cheating. They just want to find out if it is legal so they can maybe apply it themselves. I have to say F1 is more enjoyable now that the grid is getting closer together.

All the other teams cried about the double diffuser and then about the blown diffuser. It's all part of the game. They banned Bernie's fan car just because it was fast. If RB have seen something in those ducts, it's obviously something and if it ain't banned, you can bet the RB20 will have those holes next race.

the problem at Silverstone with RB during the first stint was the car setup, you could Max clearly hear the Front Wing needed an adjusting of about 3 or 4 clicks, that's a lot. Had they used the correct setup, he wouldn't have lost so much time and his tires would have lasted longer. The inter stint he was the only one not forcing his tires as much compared to both Mercedes and McLaren that was something you could see further in the stint. Then the last stint was amazing, he was as quick as the McLaren of Piastri driving a compound harder Lando was super slow Lewis was in luck RB made that critical error in the setup at the start of the race. But I am not complaining, it did make it a great race to watch.

They were actually. But FIA has specials rules for Mercedes. Most noteworthy Mercedes had figured out a mechanical active suspension, dropping the rear ride height as soon as the car straightend out after a corner. Giving massive advantage. Merc's overtaking other cars with the same merc engine like they had 120 more horsepower. The FIA looked away based on the color of the skin of a certain driver. It is disgusting and racism at its purists. O and don't forget the DAS system which was super illegal and the definition of actively changing the wheel alignment while driving, which was clearly stated as illegal. Again the FIA looked the other way because well, you know why.

Redbull won four world championships with Vettell when they had the illegal bendy front wing. It was cleverly designed so that it passed scrutineering checks, but was clearly bending and illegal during the race. All the teams complained, and McLaren would say they were the team with the fastest car and a fixed wing at that time (or words to that effect as I recall - Martin Whitmarsh). Eventually the FIA devised a check that had worked out how the wing was working and it failed the new check at the 2014 Abu Dhabi GP and Vettel and Riciardo ended up at the back of the grid. Horner was quite happy to have won championships by cheating then, and did it again with the budget cap in 20221 and 2022. So currently they have potentially just one legitimate championship to their name, and even that is probably dubious, given their history. When Ferrari were found to have cheated with their fuel delivery system, Horner cried like a hyena about that and complained that Ferraris cheating had cost them valuable championship points. Of course, Horner didn't have the same values or concerns when his teams cheating cost other teams points and championships. The whole team is toxic, but F1 doesn't seem to really care about that, and if a team cheats to win a championship, the FIA lets it stand. That shouldn't be allowed because there is almost nothing to lose by cheating. It's proven to be great advantage in fact.

@@mingusthedingus5660 I'm guessing you are new to F1? This has been the lay of the land since day 1. This is something that all teams do all the time. It's not just about making your car quicker, but also about making your competitors slower. Mercedes did the same when RBR got to close and Zac has been dishing out at all other teams close to his. The problem is that Zac has been doing this too much and now he will have to cash the check he didn't want. All teams he tried to one over have a bone to pick with him and he has put his team under a huge microscope. This could only be the beginning of an uphill battle, because now they need to make sure the all is well with the FIA before upgrading and that takes more time. Time is short in F1 and you want to get things right from the start.

Interesting view and this is a take off from the days of the F duct and blown axles. the axles did not provide additional downforce or performance however the Fduct clearly Ross Brawn taking full advantage of a blind spot in the rules. McLaren has done the same in a different area-this is the engineers jobs to exploit the rules and explore grey areas, RB has done the same, they did not have a flexible front wing, they had a flexible nose that still passed all the applicable crash test. Brake ducts are a grey area and clearly make a difference for front end grip

For some reason RedBull seems to be braking under pressure, Max has being making mistskes of his own, checo's garage has had a terrible performance, Bird the worst racing engineer. All the scandals at the beginning of the season. Its definitely the end of an era. Lucky for us that means our sport is back, an it seems that more competitive races are to come.

This is what you get from dishing out at other teams. Zac has been running his mouth and now has to pay the price. RBR is usually more of a gentleman when it comes to these thing. They will ask the FIA if they can put things on their car and if the FIA declines then other teams need to remove it. Zac has put his team under a huge microscope and this is going to hurt the team as the season progresses.

Why did Lewis leave Mercedes? I feel like they would never force him to leave and now he's going to 4th-5th place car. Maybe he knows something that we don't know.. but I heard about the Max rumors about looking at Merc seat in the future. I didn't see how that would happen unless Lewis would retire... and the RB would lose it's dominant pace, but what if they know that Max would be willing to join with Lewis gone? I know it seems crazy but with the future Ford motor... Max might not have the faith that the RB will be anywhere near the same pace as they are now.
