This has to be one of the best, if not *the* best, episode of this show yet. It had a _beautiful_ , historic car with an *_incredible_* exhaust note that also had an extensive, active and diverse past. There was an owner that knew just as much (if not more) than Jay about the car, and the period in which it was made, and, for the first time in ages, the conversation was smooth and flowing, without any moments of noteworthy awkwardness. And to top it all off, the car was so good to actually drive that we got a show of _genuine_ excitement and energy from Jay at the very end during the driving portion. Even the overall duration of the video was right in the sweet spot (in my opinion, at least) for the KZbin channel version of the show.

I have an awful lot of respect for Mr Leno and his car collection. He has the car collection because of a love of automobile technology and just the freedom that offered I believe. I've been to car collections that are investments and they just don't compare. I haven't come across many people that know as much about Oldsmobile history as Mr Leonard does. I was born in Lansing Michigan and I kind of take pride in the Oldsmobile name plate and what they did, and didn't. My greatest fear is what happens down the road with these great men like Mr Leno. We're on a precipitous of energy transition.

I'd heard Bruce liked the Oldsmobile engines because they were a good, solid, block , reliable and would hold up to the rigors of racing a lot better than the one off engine manufacturers. I also heard that the papaya orange the cars were painted was because that was the only color paint they had on hand when they built the first car but it stood out so they kept in.
