In this video, we take an in-depth look at the McLaren W1, the revolutionary new supercar that sets a new benchmark in performance and technology. With a 1275PS hybrid V8 powertrain, the W1 features McLaren’s most powerful engine ever - the MHP-8 V8 delivering 928PS and revving up to 9,200rpm, paired with an E-module that adds 347PS of instant electric power. The combined output delivers blistering acceleration from 0-200 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 350 km/h.
But power is only part of the story. The W1 incorporates Formula 1-inspired ground effect aerodynamics, with active front and rear wings that adjust dynamically to optimize downforce and reduce drag. The McLaren Active Long Tail wing extends up to 300mm, helping generate up to 1,000kg of downforce in Race mode. Coupled with Race Active Chassis Control III suspension, the W1 can transform from a road-ready supercar to a track monster with the touch of a button.
Built with McLaren’s hallmark lightweight engineering, the Aerocell carbon fiber monocoque and Anhedral doors ensure maximum structural rigidity and aerodynamic efficiency, while keeping the total weight at just 1,399kg. This lightweight construction enables the W1 to achieve a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio of 911PS per tonne, delivering unparalleled handling and performance.
