Wondering what the main difference in end result is between the pigmented toner (all white can) and the "transparent" ultra classic (cream colored can)? I thought the finish toner was more opaque and might risk covering up grain, so I was hesitant to buy it and thought the Ultra classic would be what I might always use.
@MadManRestorations Жыл бұрын
You are correct. But it will only cover the grain if you use it like spray paint lol. Remember... mist!!!
@zacharymilos392 Жыл бұрын

What would you think having a table like this refinished by a refinisher would cost?
@MadManRestorations2 ай бұрын
@@pjohnson0818 It really all depends. There's no set price among refinishers. I would guess maybe $300-$600. Also depends if you want it grain filled. That would cost more.

Nice, but do you have a video that shows how you did the feet on this Lane table?

Do you scuff after toning or straight to lacquer
@MadManRestorationsАй бұрын
@@tammywalla7259 never scuff or even touch toner. It's essentially dust when it sits. It should be topcoated as soon as you are done.

I am learning a ton from your videos. Really hoping you see these questions: First, I elected to not grain fill or glaze. (are they the same?). Do you think it is possible to go back and glaze/grain fill AFTER toner but before lacquer? Second, do you sand between toner and final lacquer top coat? If so, with what? Thanks!!!! (Edit: Refinishing Lane Acclaim coffee table and end tables.)
@MadManRestorations8 ай бұрын
Generally toner is the last step before lacquer. You do not want to touch toner after it is sprayed. I would lightly wipe with lacquer thinner to remove the toner then glaze or grain fill. Then toner and lacquer topcoats.
@damongrambow70778 ай бұрын
@@MadManRestorations Do you sand between toner and lacquer finish coat?
