Definitely appreciate your objective observations during breakdown videos. There's plenty of pure hype reaction creators out there for people who want that.

Having seen her gameplay breakdown, specials, and normals, I get the feeling Mai might be overtuned on release. She has excellent normals (5HP, 5MP, and back heavy kick are standouts), excellent corner carry, and doesn't seem to be lacking in any specific tools. And that's all before getting into the fire stock system which seems to be pure gravy (as her kit - at least at first glance - doesn't look like it's taken any hit to baseline effectiveness without the fire stock mechanic). The only weakness I see would be the uncharged fan being a 'weak' projectile, but I can only imagine that players will figure out the best ways to use it charged or uncharged. Actual hands-on gameplay can of course change and clarify things... but my early prediction from the footage we have is that Mai could be 2stronk

Mai does have all the tools but her walk speed looks pretty average. Her normals does have good reach but also seems a little slow on recovery which means she might not be able to spam it too much, especially on whiff. Lets just wait and see, Terry also looked extremely strong with all the tools in the gameplay trailer and we later know how terrible he is when released. My guess right now is that Mai may be very strong in terms of offense if she can get her charged fan setups. But she might also be weak against zoners since her uncharged fan loses to projectile and she doesn't have an anti fireball special move until she gets 2 bars of super. She might struggle to get in and will often have to use lvl1 as early as possible to get stocks in order to get her game going.

She seems good but also seems pretty easy to bully in the mid range. Her fireball means you can’t contest at that range and the amount of pressure fireball character will be able to put on her at that range will be a problem for her

Seems like the charged light projectile is a guaranteed two hitter if it connects because of the really short rebound time!

One thing they forgot add was what change after having the Fire Stocks where in the normal version can be more easy to punish and the enhance more hard to punish.

Most likely it doesn't change her frame data, just enhances the moves.

I think she'll be really good in fireball wars. Her ex fb beats Ryu ex denjin. Charged fb clashes with regular fbs. At closer ranges instead of using uncharged fb as a poke she can use the lil whip thing. It beats fbs and looks to be safe if spaced.

The moment i've read descriptions i knew the SF6 problems stays. It's already written "projectile into drive rush". It seems boring Drive Rush meta stays. And every game will still be same flow chart. It's so stale and boring at this point. 2nd year and Capcom do nothing. Drive Rush is still boring mechanic, Throw Loops are still a problem. And game plan is still Drive rush into combo into corner carry. So good *clap, clap*

SF6 was design to be in this way, if you don't like Drive Rush it's your problem. Throw loops soon or later will fixed (Capcom confirmed that not a long time ago) Isn't the old SF games always with same gameplan, with corner carry and such. I swear people nowadays complains to much about nothing
