So I watch this entire series with my mother who is half Native American she actually teared up. The attention to detail and the fact that Marvel worked with actual Native Americans to bring a story to life speaks volumes

12:21 William (Maya's dad) and Henry (Maya's uncle) were working for Fisk when she was a little girl--Maya's grandmother spoke ill of "the Lopez boys" in the wake of her daughter's death, remember? Fisk's reach was, and still is, wide. 13:09 Keep in mind that not everyone has watched Hawkeye like we did. Hawkeye was also two years ago, so some people might have forgotten some things. The flashbacks, while very familiar, were given new scenes that gave more context to Maya's upbringing. I think it'll make more sense as the story progresses. Keep track of the episode titles and the people you meet in the episodes =) Where's Amber?

The fact that you didn't know exactly what was going to happen, for me, was exciting. If I watch something that is exactly what I thought it was going to be, in exactly the way I thought it would go, it's boring.

If you want a lot more of Zahn McClarnon who plays Maya's dad and just want a really fantastic show made by Indigenous writers, directors, editors, actors you should check out Reservation Dogs! Kawennáhere Devery Jacob's, who voiced Kahhori and plays adult Bonnie is also one of the leads. It's hilarious and heart warming

They were trying to stay on par with story beats from the comics which is why she shot him in the face. She shoots him in the face in the comics and blinds him for a period of time.

I agree that the flashback was useful but I ALSO agree they spent too much time on it. They have 5 episodes for some stupid reason and the whole first episode was 85% stuff we’ve seen before. That said I guess every episode is someone’s first so I can’t complain too much. The show just needed more episodes.

Yea, the majority of the episode was flashbacks . That’s what the issue was for me
