Basically these first few episodes (up until about Episode 10) is spent on the world-building. This is a pattern you're gonna notice in all of the seasons, but in the end, just trust in the writers cuz they know what they're doing🤩 (and this is coming from someone who's rewatched the series more than 5 times over). Plus, there are some small plot points that are being built-up in these few eps, and I'm glad you notice most of them.

I don't understand people who call themselves fans of AoS, yet they can't appreciate season 1 at all. Guess what, guys: without this season, none of the further season wouldn't happen nor it would be any way meaningful. You have to love the writing of it as a whole and that means to value the beginnings of it all. I honestly can't stand people spreading this information online that "up to episode 16 the show sucked". It didn't. It never did. Those people just can't remember it anymore, because those are exactly those kind of "fans" who watch it once and that's enough for them. Sorry, I had to vent. It's okay to criticize a show like that, but then calling yourself a fan is just beyond stupid. Obviously I wasn't talking about the guy in the video, I can't wait for more reactions from him. It's been quite entertaining. But think about it for a sec: if he didn't hear so much blatant lies and overhate about the quality of the show, would he view the first episodes himself so critically? AoS is like a sibling to Fringe, 12 Monkeys, Timeless, Forever, Dirk Gently, The Orville and Terra Nova, even. Buckle up for the next episode- 1x6 is top tier for season 1, plus you may fall in love with even more characters during that episode 😊. The tone is definitely a little different from some of the humor we’ve seen so far, just a hint. Glad that you liked these episodes! AOS is really good at building up future plot points in this season that’ll surprise you later on. And fun fact- the actress who plays Skye and the hacker boyfriend were actually dating IRL at the time.

A little more depth has been added but you still in the VERY shallow end of the pool with these characters. Some little things to note that will give more character depth later. May was very quick to want to take out Akila Amador. There is good reason for that which will come later. Fitz's response to Skye, having a guy. Fitz may be quirky but he is a romantic and a full on ride or die kind of guy. Coulson, being different is both possibly in a physical way but also his leadership. Seems he as grown in that role since being supervising officer to Akila. Simmons shaking when operating on Akila. Remember both Fitz and Simmons are highly intelligent but also highly green in these roles. They are not as confident as they will be, and watching that confidence grow is chief's kiss of TV stories.

You've probably put this together. This isn't a spoiler or anything, but the compound making people explode and powering the Centipede is Extremis mixed with Chitauri tech. They've mentioned Extremis a few times. Extremis is the compound that was making people explode in Iron Man 3. Episodes 1-7 happen in between Iron Man 3 and The Dark World.

Youre already further into the show now so apologies if someone has already mentioned this but one thing I've noticed is that starting from episode 4 the next 6 episodes have all been loosely centered around a specific character on the team. It began with coulson then skye, jemma, fitz, ward, may. Those first three episodes are all meant to be world building then the next 6 are character building - its just a neat little way of building up the team and world before diving into the more plot heavy half of the season

If you are intending to do another AoS reaction trio then I would humbly suggest you do it with 1x10, 1x11 and 1x12. Then, after those three, you can easily go back to the duo reactions - 1x13 & 1x14, 1x15 & 1x16, etc.

@@JustGavinBennett There's a reason for why I have suggested that split. Episode 13 was the first one produced after the writers had started to get feedback from the fans and 1x13 kind of serves as a soft reboot/refocusing of the show. No spoilers, absolutely no spoilers, but if you are needing to get three out of the way before settling into a two episode at a time schedule then you are best doing it before you get to 1x13.

40:10 "They" didn't specifically want to kill Scorch, they just didn't care what happened to him. What they DID care about was they discovered what protected Scorch from burning, and they took all of that from him because they need what they took. I'm glad you are enjoying these episodes. The seasons may feel like they are dragging, because these are 22 episode broadcast seasons, and today we've been trained on shorter seasons that move along much more quickly. We now expect to build up quickly to a finish, where the 22 episode seasons offer more enjoyment in the journey itself.

I've always liked longer seasons anyways. The new 6 to 9 episodes is my main complaint with modern Disney+ shows. Glad they are going back to long seasons with Daredevil Born Again

You didnt answer me wheter or not you wanted to know, but im just gonna post the order here, at least for the first 3 seasons, just so you have a framing and the right context. So basically it goes like this: The Avengers - Iron man 3 - AOS S1 Ep 1-7 - Thor: The dark world (Thor 2) - AOS S1 Ep 8-16 - Captain america: The winter soldier (Cap 2) - AOS S1 Ep 17 - AOS S2 Ep 19 - Avengers: Age of ultron (Avengers 2) - AOS S2 Ep 20 - AOS S3 Ep 19 - Captain america: Civil War (Cap 3) -. AOS S3 Ep 20 etc. This is not all big crossovers or anything nessisarily, this is just where the episodes take place in the timeline. Checking what movies came out the same year as a season of this show also can help.

@@JustGavinBennett I would recommend putting episode 7,8 and 9 together if you haven't gotten that far yet. They are the most fitting episodes to put together, the other episodes are more meaty and deserves more of the spotlight of 2 episode episode. Just my two cents.

Idk, doing it this way or the normal 1 ep a week way doesnt always work out for how the episodes are meant to fit together but we'll get through it anyways. You've already had a lot of comments and I will not give any spoilers, and you've posted episode 9 of season 1 as I type this, but I want to encourage you to appreciate season 1. You commented last episode that the writers were finding their way and probably didn't know what they were doing, but they knew exactly what they were doing. I don't want to go into detail so I don't unintentionally give away spoilers, but I I read a review after a later episode that summed it up by saying the writers were geniuses that knew this was coming the whole time and set us up for it. I love season 1 more and more with each rewatch. Keep having fun.

Clairvoyance = Extra-sensory perception (ESP). The moniker "The Clairvoyant" suggests somebody who knows things a normal person wouldn't be able to know through the natural senses. Perhaps the ability to witness events remotely, locate people or objects, or see into the future. Something along those lines.
