I’m well in my seventies so at last I found time to learn new things (and keep my brain operational..…). One of these things i wanted to learn is Fusion 360. This is absolutely new ground for me so I’m glad I found your series of videos! They are absolutely great! It is amazing how much I learnt from you after just 7 episodes, thanks to the way you teach! Well balanced and at the right speed, repeating and adding new information. Perfect for me! English is not my language

I'm sure you know this, but its the "I don't know what happened there?" parts that for many of us are the thing that keeps us going when we have similar frustrations and experiences. Simply seeing the teacher struggle a little is a very powerful learning aid. Don't get too smooth/rehearsed. Thank you so much for your efforts Paul.

For those whose triangles could not snap to the edge of the nut and bolt, and also couldn't extrude cut. You need to press "p" for project and select the profiles/bodies of the items you want to perform these actions for. Took a bit of googling for me to figure this out. Thanks for another great video Paul :D

Paul, after watching through to lesson 7 I have to say that your videos have given me a very solid foundation of the basic blocks to work with. Before spending the time on your channel I struggled and got frustrated but now I look forward to learning more. Creating tutorials is a lot of work and your production is very well done. To your question about the speed of the lesson: If you and I were having a one on one conversation, some parts could seem repetitive. This is, however, a teaching tool for different people from different skillsets and backgrounds. Repetition reinforces. I think your pace is spot on for most of your target audience. Each episode has many "Ah Ha!" moments for me which is what keeps me engaged. Thank you so much.

I don't wish to sound patronising but you are the best teacher I have ever come across on the internet (and I've watched a few). You do not assume we already know just what you are doing. You're concise and methodical, taking each step one at a time and explain them well. You make the odd error when demonstrating and then explain what you have done wrong.... which is great as these are the things that would happen to me but without the knowledge to correct the mistake. You will remain permently subscribed with me. Keep up the good work Paul

The fatal flaw of most experts is that as they speak, they are not able to put themselves into the place of the audience they are speaking to. They just assume the audience ALRAEADY knows what they are about to say. Hence, the more they know, the less they are able to teach. What I realize is, when I speak, I think of someone like my mother or aunt who does not know all the words, ideas, concepts and jargon I know.

Paul, I know that a lot goes into video production and the "return" can sometimes make you wonder if it is worth it. I just wanted to let you know that your videos have helped me a lot. I am 67 years old, a Pastor, a tinkerer, commercial drone pilot, I have 2 Prusa printers and the list goes on. When I was in school, CAD drawing wasn't a thing. We did everything in "drafting mode" - front, top, side, and isometric views, and I have always wished that could translate that into CAD knowledge. I have "invented" several things in my life only to do nothing with them and later watch them become a reality for someone else. It is a wonderful thing to now be able to take an idea and make it a reality through Fusion 360 and 3D printing. I am by no means a "pro" with Fusion 360, (yet). However your videos are AWESOME! The other day while the wife were out running around I just blurted out "Nooooooo!" I have to give you credit for that one since it is your reply when entering dimensions instead of the parameters in the parametric drawings. Thanks also for the laugh. I wish you the best!

Occasionally the mouse movements, the clicks both right or left and your thinking out loud aren't 100% synced but I'm still very happy/grateful you produced these lessons. Generous of you to do them. Not mentioning any other youtube names or channels but its nice to listen to a native english speaker. I have not survived 90+% of the other channels/videos because of the language.

Yeah, that is what I felt like trying to learn. People were designing an F-16 in five minutes. I could follow and copy what they were doing, but then not do something similar on my own. Sometimes I felt like they were more trying to show off their skills than actually teach. Or maybe it was just they were way smarter than me.

Your videos are awesome! Just something I have picked up that I see you don't us is the S key. That saves so much time, not having to go up to the menus and having to look for the tool you wanted. Also, when adding constraints, select the entities involved in the constraint and right click. All the possible constraints will be in the menu, and you don't have to use the constraints panel. You might know all of this and only do it "the hard way" to make it more clear what you are doing, but for everyone else that are tiered of looking for tools or constraints, this is a very good thing to learn.

A quick point about drawing planes. My Fusion-360 was defaulted to "Y" up and not the "Z" up as Paul's is showing in his examples. [Change in Preferences - default modelling orientation]. Therefore although I was drawing in the Red-Green plane, my models were on their side when extruding them. Finally sorted that out, now my models rise up in the Z/Blue plane.

Timing perfect, no need to rewind or slow down just the right speed... Paul, Outstanding dude, slower yes but the method works. Especially when you verbally state the steps over and over when start a sketch etc. Some clearly basic concepts that are critical were skipped in my learning. I mean in just this lesson I saw where Copy is located. I was constantly redrawing features, and since I had no clue about the dimensioning via database I was always off in my layouts of mating parts. then I print them, then I drill oversized clearance holes etc it just spirals down. The most critical think I got was sketch location I thought for some reason the sketches all had to be on the same origin. So I would turn them off and draw then in body view make a change and was grabbing the wrong points and it would go haywire. OMG! I am excited to go back and actually recreate all my parts using the tools I learned here and anxious to make edits so nothing blows up. I am trying to design a family of parts for all my trains so this dimensioning in Tables with labels will allow me to change a few critical dimensions and have a new part ready to print. THANK YOU, this 69 year old Engineer is born again!!!!!!! D

created my own nut and botl using your tutorial then decided to print it. It could just be my printer but I had an issue with the parts fitting together. I'm thinking that the bolt or the nut need to be adjusted for some slight tolerances. I'm guessing that the inside wall of the nut and the outside wall of the bolt are exact same size and therefore try to occupy the same space when trying to thread together. Just my experience. btw...AWESOME lesson! Love the way you leave your miss clicks and fixes in your videos!

I printed these parts on my Prusa MK3S (in PETG) and the fit was kind of tight. Paul seemed to be able to just spin his nut onto his bolt, where my parts did go together but required quite a bit of force. I'm trying to design in some tolerance, but when I adjust my parameters, the threaded surfaces don't seem to change. I'll probably try a whole new design with some tolerance and try again.

If your nut and bolt are too tight when you screw them together, there's a video "3D Printed Threads - 3 ways to model them in Fusion 360" by CNC Kitchen that shows how to fix the problem. (It worked for me!)
