Options after MD biochem 1.teaching in medical college 2.teaching in medical college + general physician/diabetologist/cosmetologist 3.starting up your own lab 4.consultant biochemist in diagnostic labs 5.consultant biochemist at hospital 6.quality manager 7.CAP,NABH,NABL inspector Depends on the individual irrespective of the field. I’m a consultant biochemist at Breach Candy hospital.I make videos,write books,take training’s and conduct CMEs.Im just 5 yrs post MD.

MSc biochemistry is technically a non medical graduate so they are welcome in non clinical laboratories and research organisations. PhD will help you to get a good position. Nowadays MD biochemistry preferred for clinical jobs as well as clinical research jobs as they have a clinical background because of their MBBS degree.
