In unfocused encounters it always targets enemies in order from lowest speed to highest, no matter what. On one side, it means you can kill/stagger an enemy when it’s an unwinnable clash if you use a defense skill to clash and attack it with another sinner or later skill, but on the other hand, it leads to guaranteed damage in solo runs since the skill doesn’t get used until the enemy takes their turn.

Thrill ego gift deals damage at the end of the turn based on the potency and count of the rupture There is also an ego that gives rupture to the enemy based on their speed

Thrill is a walmart rupture deluge. Not attacking means more stacking of rupture with the crown, more stacking = damage. Profit.

To further expand on what the player did, when using the "Goals" Wish of Stars option, the tier 4 ego gift you receive depends on the Starter Gift CATEGORY you choose before the run. The rupture category was chosen, rupture only has 1 Gift available from the pool available from Goals, so you are guaranteed to receive Thrill. Of course this means having at least 500 Starlight to attempt this, but forfeiting and NOT claiming rewards refunds the starlight spent on Wish(es) of Stars, so you can pretry much retry as needed.
