I had this procedure and was well pleased although I had never had TURP and cannot compare. In general the overall procedure was very easy, effective and uneventful.

Is the prostate not located outside the urethra? So how do you insert the equipment up through the penis into the urethra and then have the ability to evaporate the prostate that is located outside?

I had prostitius before my surgery of a holep op.. I had rectum pain and agony passing urine.. Doctor subscribed ciprofluxen 14 day course. Obviously if worked on the inflamation of the prostrate.. 6 weeks later back again. Doctor subscribed Trimethropin. 14 days . Now I've finally had a holep. Operation... Results are fantastic..

Yipes sounds like they need more experience and procedure and how this actually has a better outcome. Too many issues for a procedure that sounds like a fantastic option.

SERIOS ADVICE: Please stay with catheter bag inserted as much as 5 or 6 days after operation. So you wont expose yourself with a possible urine retention issue like I incurred.....ITS HORRIBLE!!!! I had to resort to the hospital due to that the foley was removed after two days.......

With COVID-19 hospital forget all about me. What the nurse told me. And I was addmited to A&E four days after operation because of bleeding. My catheter and night bag was full of blood. Had to have operation because of burst blood vessel. Am sorted now. Just have to do kegal exercise to get my peeing better thanks

Hi I phoned my gp asking when they were going to take catheter out and she said she thought it was out. Because I was under district nurse. Who was coming to my home. Everyone forgot about me. Doctor who did operation was concerned about catheter being in to long. Anyway am doing good thanks 🙏 doing kegal exercise. No problems peeing. Thanks
