if possible a small diagonal brace on your table, it doesn't have to be big. Even small 90 degree metal braces that screw in underneath the top and onto a leg will keep it much stronger. Looks epic dude !!!

I have a mobile work station in my fish room as well. One suggestion is get galvanized pipe, elbows and floor flanges. Make a handle/ towel bar to make it easier to move the cart as well a good place to keep a towel while working.

Nice updates! Seeing your rocket killies reminds me of something Corey at the Co-op said about them years ago - if they don't have a tight lid they will yeet right outta there! One of mine tried to during a cleaning but caught it quickly. They are predatory surface hunters, so they will stay up top a lot... mine do. Supposedly not hard to breed if kept species only. I think snails are getting my eggs. Adults don't predate on the babies, which is nice. Hope you get more... great little fish!

If you want to help diffuse the sound in the studio you can hang up some diffusers around the room from the ceiling and have some panels in the corners. It'll be pretty difficult to fully treat the room since it's all flat reflective surfaces hence the large amount of reverb.

When you drill screws you should make a starting divot with the drill piece first so that you don’t split your wood when you get to the end, it creates a little insert for the cone end of the screw on the underside

Bottom piece is superfluous, should have made it a shelf few inches from the floor. 2 x 4 or whatever size should be on the sides, at an angle will make it even stronger, look at how your metal shelves are constructed.

When I lived in California I had an aquarium on an old four-legged table at the foot of the bed when an earthquake struck. I woke up as the tank was sloshing back and forth as the legs of the table swayed like a hula dancer right and then left. The light fell into the tank and electrocuted the poor fish as plaster chunks rained down on me from the ceiling. Anyway, I survived, though my fish didn't! Moral of the story: a table with four legs and no braces in between can sway back and forth with the weight of an aquarium on top!

Good use of the matt black to reduce reflections and glare. Have you seen Musou Black? One of the blackest blacks known, paint something in it and it looks like a hole in space. Was wondering how good a backdrop it would be for a tank. Thinking neons would glow in front of it.

@ziender

You can spot treat with hydrogen peroxide and a syringe. Be careful not to use too much it can kill everything in the tank. Manual removal might be the safest. BBA is supposed to be related to issues with low CO2 or fluctuating CO2 levels.

@mjw1404mw Жыл бұрын
@ziender Thanks, I'll try that. I've already taken everything out and scrubbed it, so I'll leave it all to settle and then look to get some hydrogen peroxide. I'll look into getting some CO2 in there as well.
