A quick note on heating I forgot to mention. I heat the whole room and at this time of year as it's cold outside, its sitting at circa 22c (71.6F). The shrimp and fish in this set up will be absolutely fine in the ambient temperature of a house, assuming you keep your house at 20c (68F). Obviously in the summer months, you temp will go up because of weather and this will actually replicate a natural cycle the fish and shrimp would experience in the wild. You may even see more breeding in the spring time as temps start to rise. I usually do with most species in most tanks 👍
@MarksShrimpTanks8 ай бұрын
That temp is perfect for shrimp, we shrimp keepers refer to it as the golden number 👍

Where I live in Southern California there are times in the Summer where it gets to be 120F outside and there are time when I cannot run the AC due to the cost of electricity so the interior of the home will be very warm until I come home and run the AC. Will a bowl like this survive those sort of temperatures? Also Where do you find the freshwater shrimp? Last tank I had was a 10 gallon tank about 35 years ago and I had guppies, neon tetras, a sucker fish and several African dwarf frogs. Despite the local fish shop owner's claims the frogs did eat freeze dried shrimp no problem. I did feed the tank live brine shrimp fry about twice a month. Great build BTW.
