One of the people involved with the story literally said in a tweet when people wouldn't shut up about it "theres more than one way to train" So again I do think that yeah it makes sense

Keep that in mind that this man was able to achieve a form that went beyond SSJ,SSJ2 AND SSJ3 In 3 months and then even went past SSJG and was able to fight head to head with an SSJB. So if Freiza would’ve have waited for himself to get a few more days of training and master the form he would’ve swept goku’s ass like a broom
