yoo fax about that being one of the most intense moments in anime above any fight bc I felt like the pacing of the show up to around that point was amazing instead of throwing hands we had Light and L boxing it out in a game of chess it was the whole reason I enjoyed the show so much... and my man's Ryuk

I always got into an argument with my brother about this anime and who actually won. In my opinion L won because in the end light gets killed and near continued for L which was part of L's plan. Not to mention light had to cheat even more than just using ryu and never actually knew Ls name

Kira did fuck that up pretty badly,

Because it wasn't the person investigating him. It was EVERYONE investigating EVERYONE. That's how he disguised it from the police. It wasn't a mistake. The only thing that gave him away was L noticed his wife also died.

Light didn't just kill that one and guy he killed all of the people investigating all the suspects then made it look like his wife committed suicide because she was sad. This pretty much confirmed that kira was one of the people getting investigated but they had no idea which one.

The reason Light wasn't caught is cuz even tho L new Light was Kira he didn't have sufficient enough evidence to prove it, and Light killed him before L could get that evidence.Also, Light made rem make that fake rule in the death note that removed both him and Misa as suspects.

I disagree regarding the ending. The point of the series is that Light was damned from the beginning. He would get his just desserts, & the story wouldn’t end until his name was written by Ryuk. That’s why it kept going & why the stakes got out of hand. Who knew murdering thousands would result in societal collapse?
