A commercial from the Michigan Department of Found Footage informing residents of Wayne County, Michigan to urgently turn in any strange cameras or footage tapes found within the area. The commercial began running in the late 90's and continues to be broadcasted well into the year 2001...
This commercial is not real. It is made solely for my series and was heavily inspired by the infamous Burger King Poke-Ball recall commercial. • Burger King Pokemon To...

As a born and raised Hawaii state 90s kid this is something that wouldn't be unheard of airing in 1999 to 2003 in the tropical state of aloha. If it weren't for the Michigan in the video itself geographically pinningw where it's at one could easily mistake this for super late 90s 12 am broadcast. Incredible. authentic nostalgia TV broadcast vibes. Geo is so underrated for trying something different to than typical.

Hello again, I have a nitpick of a criticism if there ever was one! This one directed on your world building. Your Michigan Department of Found Footage is an agency of the State of Michigan, yet its seal appears alongside the Federal Seal of the United States Government towards the end. Normally, a state agency wouldn’t appear alongside the federal seal because they’re two separate entities under two separate governments. But there may be a reason you have the two associated? Maybe the federal government is taking an interest and is demanding to cooperate (interfere) with the state agency? Maybe it’s co-funding the agency? Maybe this small group of dedicated employees are going to have to contend with Washington big wigs stepping onto their scene with their own agenda? Some story lines could develop from this! Also, the fact there is a state agency dedicated to collecting found footage (presumably about the backrooms) opens up its own potential for world building: if there’s a government agency, it means some group, person, or expert lobbied for it to 1) exist and 2) get public money. Not only this, but they convinced enough politicians in the state legislature to go along with it and to grant it funding. Now maybe this was just politicians trading favors, but it means some “benefactor” cared enough to get this Department going-no matter how small and underfunded it may be. Why would they do this? Was the general public in favor of this proposal? How is this agency treated by the press and people outside it? What forces are at play driving the mission of the agency? Are they entirely benevolent? Or are there ulterior motives? Are our humble agency employees in cahoots with the minds behind the Department? Do their interests align or collide? And the greatest mystery of all… why Michigan? What twisted and sinister forces are at play that causes the backrooms to coalesce around Michigan-could it be… Detroit? Jokes aside, I’m interested to see how you develop your Department. Not that any of these story threads needs to be incorporated or developed into your world or story. There’s plenty of reasons why you wouldn’t want politics to overshadow what you’re doing. It could take away from it in some ways. Personally, I like some of these nitty gritty details. I feel like it helps with world building and to flesh out what’s at stake. I’m also a nerd for policy and policy making, so there’s that. But if I had to take a poll, I would say most people could do without politics in their surrealist horror series. Anyway, I look forward to your next release. Your fellow Pilgrim, Wayfaring Stranger PS: MDOFF (pronounced em-doff I’m guessing) is a good acronym. It’s easy to read, pronounce, and it doesn’t sound ridiculous.
