Just because someone has money or is "successful" does not mean that they are any different than anyone else. People are people regardless of color, class, financial status or zip code. The main problem is that many of them are in denial that mental illness is even a thing and that if they have a nice car and house that they are immune. Also, many couples stay together out of convenience, tradition or just to keep up appearances. They will be smiling in your face and going through hell at home, I've worked with people like that and I have also been one myself. The first thing is to be open and honest about the situation and taking drastic action to remove yourself from toxic situations even if you have to leave your job, relocate and change your name. Sometimes that's what you have to do to stay alive.

Many years of abuse usually predates the murder and it's more than likely when the woman has had enough and decides to end the abuse/relationship. Abusive men abuse regardless of how much a woman "nags" or doesn't "nag".......as you put it. Domestic violence isn't about getting so annoyed that a man snaps. It's about not seeing your significant other as their own person with their own lives and Dreams and seeing them as a possession to be controlled and dominated.

Sometimes, I think human beings are totally overrated. 😂😂😂 You know it's funny I'm never lonely when I'm out on the sailboat or solo climbing mountains, it's only when I get around people again that I think it should be different and then I can start feeling lonely. The brother is not telling the whole story to stay safe. If she wanted a divorce, she would get 50% of assets and there would also be 50% less income in the home from her leaving, so that may be a big financial blow to the 62 yr old husband.
