I have the steyr m9a2 at PSA for $375.00 which was an insane deal. beretta apx centurion, Canik tpsf elite from classicfirearms for around the same amount for the two others. IMHO for the price you get hella alot for the price. All are flat shooters, great ergos, excellent triggers with short reset. Quick and easy sight alignment. All three are part of my EDC rotation. I couldn't ask for anything better for the price. If anyone can find any of the above mentioned tools of Lethality don't hesitate to purchase one.

Great review! The Steyr M9/C9 series pistols are designed ahead of its time. The bore axis is very low, almost feels like the barrel is in the plam. Tightest slide to frame rail fitting compare to many other polymer frame pistols, beefier and sturdier frame rail; space age laser gun look, even some what Cyber Punk style with the rail and factory friction pad/stippling areas. Traingular "Trapezoid" sight is snag free, fast to aim and sturdy. Steyr USA really need to spend some more time to work on their product marketing.

Someone at the range this past weekend let me shoot this Steyr and I was completely blown away. It's such a soft shooting gun, the grip texture is amazing without being sandpaper rough, and the trigger is great. The sights took a little getting used to but once I did this was so accurate. I'm currently researching this pistol to get other people's opinion before I purchase one and yours is one of the top results. Your video was extremely helpful. P.S. funny that you mentioned the Beretta APX. The APX Target (along with my M&P 2.0) is what I was using at the range before I tried this Steyr pistol.

That really improved my trigger, even though it was good before I made the modifications.I painted my front sight bright orange and my rear sight dayglo green with Testors paint. That really made them pop! I added Talon grips and a “slide spider” slide racking assist. Your segment on the trigger was perfectly in depth. And it's the best showcase of this pistols trigger I've ever seen. You're absolutely right about all of it. One of the biggest things I enjoy when shooting is not even so much an audible reset, but more of a tactile one. And the steyr c9 reset isn't hardly even tacticile. I also wish they sold threaded barrels for this model! That would be amazing!

I had the original M40 in the early 2000's. When the M40A1 came out, I traded up. It is my favorite pistol. Recoil is tame for a .40. When the A2's came out in 2019, I passed on the over $600 price. Recently, an online retailer had a heavy discount on the A2's. I picked up a C9A2 for $299 plus TT, and an M9A2 for $325 plus, both NIB. Could not pass that up. I'm now training my 5'3" small stature daughter to shoot. She's lights out with those A2's. The small grip modules work well with her smaller hands. Side note: my .40 slide works on the A2 lower.

Interesting pistol. The ergonomics look good. I don’t understand the why they’d serialize the grip module. Sights are also interesting and would take some getting used to. Not sure about the trigger… looks like a nice break but the reset would likely be a deal breaker for me. Not sure how you could favor this over the PDP or P-10C; both have excellent resets.
@MDpolo3 жыл бұрын
The pistol is fantastic overall. The thing about the reset is that the more you shoot this pistol the less it bothers you. When I started shooting the Steyr line of pistols, I kept comparing them to the triggers on Glocks and CZs. But then I realized that I needed to give the pistol a chance for what it is and stop comparing it. I can guarantee you that in a self-defense situation, few people are going to worry about the reset. If you train with this pistol the reset on this trigger becomes a mute point. glock 19x or this gun if you had 2 choose one for shtf ? and great video man
@MDpolo11 ай бұрын
For the scenario you described, the Glock. Simply because of their aftermarket an availability of parts. Under normal circumstances, the Steyr all day long. Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to stop by.

Nope. I sold mine. Very little aftermarket support. Maybe two serious holster options. My sights were drifted left of center from factory. Try using the trapezoid sights at night. They dissappear. This pistol requires way too much to be a useful defensive tool. I was excited at first.
@ThirtyOught63 жыл бұрын
They're not night sights, dude, they're the same plain jane daytime sights you get on most any pistol nowadays. They ALL disappear at night. If you need night sights then change them out for night sights like any other pistol.
@1Alexville3 жыл бұрын
@@ThirtyOught6 Night sights for these pistols are vaporware, Pain in the ass to get any aftermarket accessories for this pistol. I like the gun but there is zero support for them. Not a serious defensive option.
@22leggedsasquatch2 жыл бұрын
I think you were just unlucky with the sights, but that could have been fixed by Steyr and that's actually the first I've heard of this issue. The holster point is known from before purchasing and they're are options available and Steyr do offer them as they do 3 dot luminescent sights. Also known is the 'after market support'..but what does one expect or need? Complaining about that is like going out for dinner at a quality restaurant and complaining that the food is faster to your table at Mcdonalds. None of these points reflect that the pistol is a military grade weapon that has passed every single military test in Austria; has tremendous accuracy, reliabilty and a build quality typical of a manufacturer of Steyr's standing. Additionally, its low bore access and soft shooting render it an excellent choice. All the L9 A2 needs is a deeply placed micro red dot and though the trigger is certainly sufficient, it could do with being closer to the excellent PDP trigger.
@1Alexville2 жыл бұрын
@@22leggedsasquatch No... To just about everything you just said... I bought one of the very first run C9-A2s that came out. They were tough to get. I was hoping that people would catch on and start building holsters and night sights. Second, you cannot get the A2 series with 3 dot sights from Steyr... I tried. Why be anchored with something you have to jump through hoops to get to a standard of performance? This is more like going to a new restaurant that has amazing self buzz , and the food is decent, but you have to bring your own utensils....

The Steyr and the APX share this deep cutout for the web of your hand - making it really easy to grip the gun high and firm. I got them both (L9-A2, APX) and really cant say which feels "less" snappy - both just dont feel snappy at all.

I like Steyr pistols, even though I don’t own one, I got caught up in the Grand Power pistols from Slovakia. These pistols also go under the radar, they feature the rotating barrel breach system like the Beretta PX-4 series. They are extremely accurate and soft recoil, do a comparison between the Steyr and a Grand Power P-1 or K100 9mm ! Which one is more accurate and has more features?
@MDpolo8 ай бұрын
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a grand power for a long time. I would like to buy my guns locally and not through the Internet so not one has shown up yet. So I can’t comment to the ground power but I hear they are very nice pistols.

@MDpolo3 жыл бұрын
I think one of the reasons they have not made it optics ready is because the slide has such low profile in the rear that there is no room to do a cut without invading the striker channel. I am not 100% sure of that but that’s what I have heard. You might want to comment on @TNSteyr channel. He has a good channel and is the real expert on Steyr pistols. The Steyr is a very good firearm in view of the fact that it was designed by the same engineer who worked on the Glock, plus it’s also made in the same country Austria. But you have not shot the best low recoiling 9mm out of Europe until you test a Grand Power K100 or P-1, P-11 or the Q series. The Steyr is a close second in terms of accuracy and recoil reduction with its rotating breach locking barrel, the Grand Power is King! 🎉🎉🎉!
