I have been shooting Steyr pistols in Idpa for years. Started with the A1 and then the A2 when they came out. They are amazing pistols. The triangle sights are extremely fast and very very accurate. I have put over 40 thousand rounds thru my Sterys combined. And they are very reliable. Make sure to remove and clean the extractor and channel occasionally.

Grüezi from Austria! That's maybe the only polymer gun I consider buying. So far, I only saw positive reviews.

I know this is a year later, but what I find interesting is the models available in the US are not offered with the manual safety or the loaded chamber indicator. I have a M9-A2 MF in green, and it's missing both.

What surprised me the most is that you got one with a safety. Even with the S,C,M and L A1 Series pistoles the ones with those safeties were rather rare. I never even saw pictures of a A2 with the safety (not even on Steyrs european homepage) so i thought they cpmletely ditched that option.

The safety is a rather odd feature. maybe it makes it a collectors item 🙂

I know how the Steyr hunting guns are made and they are really good. So I believe that the handguns are also really good. Thanks.

Nice video. Can you tell me who makes your holster
@swissaaa874710 ай бұрын
We actually made it ourselves. Black Trident in Austria has similar holsters.

Great video! How stiff is the recoil spring? That is, how difficult is it to rack the slide back, apart from the fact that you have to be precise with your grip as you mentioned in the video? Thank you!
@swissaaa87472 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The force of the recoil spring is comparable to other, similar 9mm pistols. I don't find it especially hard or soft. The Steyr has a low bore axis and therefore, the slide is not very high. The low slide is somewhat more difficult to grip when racking it in a hurry of course. That's something that one can see with similar designs such as the Arsenal or even the CZ Shadow. Examples of very grippy slides would be the HK VP9, Walther PDP or the Beretta APX. The advantage of a low bore axis is less muzzle flip but it comes with the disadvantage of less grip area on the slide. I like the design of the Steyr quite a lot.

What Holster are you using?
@swissaaa87472 жыл бұрын
Actually, that holster I did together with my friends from Shadowlab in Switzerland. One cannot buy it. However, I can recommend the guys at Black Trident in Austria. They make a good holster for the Steyr with the TLR-1.
