Hi David ! As you can see on the return hose, the colour of the exhaust is becaming darker and darker, due to a bad combustion of the fuel and may be because of unappropriate plug (I'm not sure of that, you're more experimented than me). A friend of mine uses as he calls it : "shit collector", if I translate it to english, which means a small box put between the mufler's outlet and the tank, designed to collect all those dirt. Anyway, for me, only the latest versions of MDS engines are worth to use : the "8" series : MDS 18, 28, 38 (and 40), 48, 58, 68, 78, 148 and 218) because of a new conception of the carburetor, much more reliable

No actually that is not bad combustion and dirt. That is poor materials and bad quality. That dark stuff is metal particles. A real quality engine will never do this

Nice run. I think the 68 was the last 60 size engine MDS produced.

2:07 I was thinking the same. Sounds like too rich but died instantly when 1 click lean. Whutt? Runs well enough for flying.

Are MDS engines still in production? I know they were sold by Horizon for a time, but that was probably at least 10 years ago.

I am unsure. I do not know of a US Distributor. I certainly wouldn't buy one.

This page says: 'We make engines under individual orders': www.model-motors.narod.ru/

The Page also says: ' Доступное Топливо спирт С2Н5ОН=Available Fuel alcohol C2H5OH' C2H5OH is Ethanol not Methanol. That's interesting...

Maybe it would have run on my home brew fuel then.

Strange website. I came up with NOTHING like that when I did a search for MDS engines on my browser.

Hi David, enjoying the channel! I've noticed you use quite a few different tacks. Do you have a favorite?
@dmrcflyr26 жыл бұрын
Most tachs are alright if used as a modeler would. But I need something that can be used in close proximity to the prop blade and camera at a particular angle for framing of my videos. The Turnigy tach is ok, but has issues with lighting and direct sunlight. The Hobbico tach works well but does not have a MAX reading. The Globee is a complete piece of shit. So my usage of tachs is different from what an average flier might need. There really aren't too many to choose from anymore anyway......
