I'm a projectionist at a movie theater that hosts a lot of private events, presentations, etc., that require multiple mics set up through the cinema speakers for our clients. I wanted to tell you this video has been an absolute godsend. I had no idea how to use the mixer properly until I looked up tutorials and followed yours to the T; I've finally been able to cut out/minimize all the pesky feedback issues that have been plaguing me! Thanks! Much appreciated.

Christos Mastoroudes Hi, please check the following: 1. Make sure Aux 2 (FX) is wound up (pointing straight up) on the input channel you are using. 2. Then make sure the Aux 2 Send is wound up (pointing straight up). 3 Make sure the Aux 2 return is wound up (pointing straight up) . 4. Make sure the effects send switch is up (sending FX to the main mix). If you still have trouble send me your email address and I can help you offline. Regards Dean

You don't know what a valuable find this is for me! I've had this mixer forever, but am configuring a new (for me) home studio and thought I might be able to use this for its preamp capability since I currently have no other external preamps and have just discovered that I need one. I'd like to send the signal from the Behringer 1204FX into my outboard dbx-266xs compressor, then route it back into the mixer; then into the Behringer FCA1616 audio interface and finally into the computer. Would this be the correct signal chain? Thanks loads!
@MDTV37 жыл бұрын
Hahaha I feel like as soon as I answer you I will get thousands of complaints from the purists :) Short answer, YES, there are a couple of ways to do it, most mixers including this one will allow you to INSERT an external device around the start of the chain (either pre or post trim/gain depending on the mixer's design). It's very easy to INSERT anything (compressor effects etc) if you are handy with the soldering iron you can make the cable yourself or buy one, it will have a standard 1/4" stereo plug one end and 2 1/4" mono plugs the other (one of the mono plugs will be your INPUT to your device & the other will be the OUTPUT from your device back to the mixer. Done!Email me if you want more specific help also look at www.homerecordingconnection.com/forum.php?action=view_thread&id=14905&frm=2

Yes, terrific demo. Others say "demo" but you actual DEMONSTRATE it. Can you or someone answer a question for me? What happens if I connect this to a USB port on my PC? Long story short, I messed up the onboard sound and have it disabled now. I do have a Tascam US-122 interface and I just bought a Behringer U-Phono Ufo202 Usb Audio Interface. So would I have to use one of those or could I just go direct USB?
@MDTV37 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have used one of those Behringer UFO202 USB sound cards & love them, pretty simple to use. I presume your question is in regards to the USB support on the newer Behringer mixers (not the one I did the review on) I haven't ever used one but I thought it was the same as using the UFO202? So you should be able to go straight out of the USB on the mixer into your PC. The Tascam interface is nice (nicer than the Behringer UFO202) So if you cant get the onboard USB to work either the UFO202 or the Tascam would be fine. Regards Dean

Thanks for replying... I did check everything I could find on it before asking, as I always do, including downloading the pdf manual from the Behringer website and read the section on FX, no mention made of whether any of the effects are stereo or not. Anyway I went ahead and bought one and as it happens, the chorus IS stereo, as I'd hoped.... don't know about any other effects, as I have not tried them, stereo chorus was my main concern. It really is an amazing mixer, big on features, small price :)

Hi, it will most likely have to do with your routing setup, a cheat is to hit the send to master bus on the channel strip (assuming your outputs work & there is not a problem with the desk). Channel routing can get you confused really easy sometimes, more so on the larger boards with sub busses. So you have to route your channel strip to either a sub bus that is then routed to the master bus or a lot of mixers give you the option to route it straight to the master bus. If you PFL the output signal you are sending to the speakers do you hear anything? Feel free to email mail me if you need clarify. Regards Dean

Hi, In a bedroom studio setup where Mics, monitors and headphones exist within close proximity (i.e: no dedicated vocal booth).. is there a way of driving sound to headphones only (during vocal recording ) without going through a connected set of monitors? I had a smaller mixer and the only way I could isolate sound away from my monitors was by physically disconnecting them from the mixer... And then reconnecting them during playback... Cheers
@MDTV37 жыл бұрын
Yep, there are a few options depending on how many headphones & how many different mixes you want. You can use the Behringer HA400 or I have used the Behringer MA400 which is pretty funky. Both Headphone Amplifiers are dirt cheap. Email me if you need specific help with any given setup. Regards Dean

MDTV3 I had a basic set up, the USB mixer was primarily an audio interface to get sounds into my DAW (vocals) and then sounds out to my monitors. The DAW pretty much did everything else. During vocal recording, I found that the only way to eliminate the studio monitors was to power them down completely and then work from Studio headphones. ***Afew months ago my apartment got burgled and all my equipment got stolen.. Sooo am looking to rebuild anew, with options for expansion where live instruments can be incorporated and edited from the mixer's end but also within the DAW.*** I ll need a mixer that can allow me to independently control headphones on their own, and monitors separately - while operating within the same room (basically to avoid positive feedback) I love this mixer (x1222USB) just want to know more about before I commit. Cheers

OK well you can use the desk to control the headphones, if you want multiple channels in the headphone independent to your main mix you can route everything thing through an AUX channel to the headphone amplifier

If I have 2 channels in stereo from say a keyboard rig on stage and there is only 1 available channel to front of house PA what is the best way to combine the stereo signal on the mixer to a single summed mono signal to go out of the mixer to the house PA?
@MDTV37 жыл бұрын
At the risk of offending every keyboard player I suggest the following. Most keyboards will give you a mono mix down through the left output (make sure there is no plug in the right jack as it may not mix down to the left). Now to the offense, there is a fair bit of talk about phase issues when mixing down stereo samples, quite frankly keyboards in the music I have mixed were not the dominant instrument & as such I couldn't hear any issues nor the musicians/listeners. Unless you have Elton John (or similar) hammering on you keys or it's the only instrument then it's probably not going to be an issue.....There's an article here that might be interesting: www.keyboardmag.com/how-to/1255/solving-stereo-stage-piano-problems/28996

+Wilson Raiano are you using a daw? a program to record ? maybe that is the problem i think meaning you need a program to make use of the mixer
@tnmando8 жыл бұрын
+Wilson Raiano Hopefully you got this working by now, but if not, make sure you have the USB driver installed from Behringer. There are also two red buttons labled 2-tr/USB. You may need to press one of those depending on which output you are using (phones or mains). I had similar issues when I first got my board and was using Windows 7. I am not using Windows 10 and don't have any problems with the USB functionality.

Hi, yes with out the FX you will have to either use an external FX unit (run it through the AUX bus) rough guide, if using say aux 1 remember to turn up the channel strip aux 1 to half way, then turn up the desk's aux send up to half way & the aux return to half way that should get you some effects.For recording, record separate channel and apply FX in your software. actually what is the purpose of RCA input as demo 14.07? could we mix the sound with a AUX ? when i tried it i feel its a just bypass only?
@MDTV38 жыл бұрын
Hahaha yes this is a very old thing, in the old days you used to have a music tape or cd play at an event before the band or whatever got on stage, the RCA in was a cheap way of getting that music into the mixer without wasting a whole channel for it. But in summary, I pretty much never use it, mixing desks are that cheap that if you want to put a CD through the desk you just use a stereo input (and that gives you EQ on the channel as well)
@samisbored2310 жыл бұрын
Because this only has one aux channel how would you connect two monitors to this and control what is in each one? My band has two monitors and we want to be able to control what is in each monitor, is this possible with only one aux 1 channel?
@stuartheydon632310 жыл бұрын
i believe you can still use the 2nd FX (internal) as a monitor output.
@MDTV310 жыл бұрын
Stuart Heydon Yes, Correct. Obviously you do it at the sacrifice of freely using your internal effects (unless what you want to output to that monitor is also what you want to apply effects to).
