When I was in High school in 2016 I really wanted a PS4 and my folks were trying so damn hard to find one but couldn't because it was sold out everywhere and finally after a whole year of waiting i was in school that day (that's important to the story) the power went out from a bad storm that hit that day and I was also already going through a lot from a bad break up that day. My mom used the money she had left that month alongside money my grandma gave her to buy me a PS4 slim that came with Infinite Warfare (The newest COD at that time). Everyone was calling their parents on their phones to pick them up early. My mom picked me up early and had it waiting in the car for me. Once I got in the car 16 year old me saw the Playstation and smiled from ear to ear excited. I still have the same PS4 today and it still works. Honestly if I had a kid I would definitely do the same thing as my family did for me in 2016 Edit:My PS4 finally broke after 7 years and I have now bought a new one

Its fairly easy to replace a hard drive, jsut order one off ebay or something, it'll cost u around 40£ I think but I dont even have to open it up a lot, if u got the original, take off the glossy part on the top by sliding it to the left and at the bottom right u will see a moderate size Phillip's screw (+ shape) and if u unscrew that u can literally swap the hard drives, search on youtube for a better explanation/ demonstration

Because its still better than the PS5 cosmetic wise. I still wouldn't buy a PS5 just because the thing is huge and only is laid out vertically which i don't like and its white which i think it should be black with a rough non gloss texture like the ps4 pro. That thing is so unshapely ugly and wouldn't be as portable as the square shaped ps4 pro.
