Talk about giving you the Bum's Rush... LOL The Criterion team really needs to re-think this alarmingly SHORT time-limit business, even 5 mins would have made a world of difference. Regardless, am so psyched for you that you got to do this Robert! Was such a pleasure to finally meet you at the the big Q&A! Glad to hear you made it home safe, hope your travels find you back here in NYC another day soon. Cheers, M4

They had to be out of the park by 6, so even 3 mins looked to be a challenge. It was incredible nonetheless !

Agreed. Five minutes is fair.

Really glad I was able to see you in this. The Criterion Closet is just highly entertaining no matter the guest. I still remember Del Toro's video when he pretty much took everything! 🤣 Like Damn!

Glad you made it in- looks as though I'll have to upgrade my "Mildred Pierce" Criterion to 4K- can't wait for the next sale. Based on the great work you do on your channel, I think Criterion should give you time in the real closet, with free discs. Your story reminds me of years ago when I flew down to L.A. (before I moved to the L.A. area) on the chance of getting in to see Olivia de Havilland interviewed at a showing of "The Heiress" during a big tribute to her. I was in one standby line, then there was talk about getting in another line. I think I stayed put, and barely got in to the event (her interview was fantastic), due to staying in the right line.

That's great that you got in ! I can only hope I'll be invited in to do a Criterion Closet video one day !
@slc24662 ай бұрын
@@RobertBellissimoAtTheMovies Makes sense to me- you could simply state you run your KZbin channel devoted to movies, then dive in. It was fun to see you get a little time in the closet, in any case.

Robert, you look right at home in that environment! You should decorate your living room like the Criterion closet. I love the Criterion Collection and the Channel so much. There's a closet in my movie room that I might turn into a mini-Criterion room. My personal collection isn't all that extensive, so it could work. I loved hearing your comments about A Woman Under the Influence.
@RobertBellissimoAtTheMovies2 ай бұрын
Thanks Michael ! You should turn your closet into a physical media room for sure. Would make good videos.

Fantastic! Glad to see you held up Mildred Pierce! Can't believe they had the audacity to push you out after a four hour que... seems ridiculous despite the 6pm end of work day. Some people really do have a pole stuck up their behind. Love the picture!
@RobertBellissimoAtTheMovies2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much ! They really didn't have much of a choice, in regards to time. There were tons of people there and they had to be out at 6, so cutting people off was necessary. I hope they can figure out a way to give people more time in the future. The Criterion staff are extremely kind.

Was at Barnes and Noble’s yesterday, and was looking at the Criterion blu-ray section, and every dvd is over $49.00…why are they so expensive ?
@RobertBellissimoAtTheMovies2 ай бұрын
Because there's a lot of special features on it and a booklet inside. They are like film courses.

Geez they only gave you a few minutes after waiting 4 hours:( Yep Mickey and Nicky is great, and yes Elaine May is super underrated! I've seen Mildred Pearce before but I love the remake of it better! A Woman Under the Influence is great I've got the Cassavetes box set.
@RobertBellissimoAtTheMoviesАй бұрын
There's a remake ? Yeah it was short, but sweet. They only had 8 hours in the park and tons of people to go through, so unfortunately that's the best they could offer. However, we all got discounts on the Blu rays and a lot of people got one for free as well.
@OsoAnimationАй бұрын
@@RobertBellissimoAtTheMovies Yeah the remake isn't nearly as good as the original but it was done live and it has Richard Drefyus, Harvey Keitel, George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Walter Cronkite.... it's definitely worth watching.
