went to a store in dublin in the late 80's to see the latest keyboards on sale, couple of guys from Depeche Mode where there and doing demos on the machines, i almost lost my mind when they played this on a single keyboard, i don't think i ever saw keyboards sell as fast, an amazing free gig and demo on the machines, did i buy one? hell yes !

If be honest, this cover totally showed me another side of music. It showed me that synths are much better than guitars. And after 10 years I just want to thank you for this video. You completely inspired my musical path for the rest of my life. Thank you so much. Always in my heart!

Even a 2003 Roland RS70(iirc on exact model) uses floppys for midi voices. it lets you play the voices right from the disk!

this is so awesome on all levels, you clearly put hard work into this. Sounding like this doesn't just happen. Totally impressed. At first I was thinking a little about vocals, but then I enjoyed really listening to the polyphonic instrumental tracks with all the tiny little details coming across clear. It's a pure joy to listen to.

DX5 was the first to do such remakes in youtube many years ago. People should know that. These days there are many remakes where people obtained the original DM samples and they have an easy time sounding like DM. He made it all by himself, so it's even more remarkable.

@@DX5 Agreed. I think it became commonplace when Alan Wilder sold his DM Emax disks and thousands of people have a copy of these Emax disks with the samples and patches for Black Celebration, Enjoy the silence etc.

My old cover band used to play this at gigs in the 90s (Roland S-330, W-30, few others) but watching your playing I now realize how complex the chords actually are and how much we simplified (butchered) our cover .... cheers for rendering the full harmonic glory of the instrumentation

This person is Amazing. Years ago i sent a message about the Tyros keyboards and he responded within an hour. It was a very dark time for me. I could see no way out and was close to doing something stupit. I have since bought a Tyros keyboard have not got aroind to playing it yet but this guy is an unsung hero he saved my life.
