ME2: Suicide Mission - Claymore Vanguard+Slam

Vanguard with Heavy Slam bonus power, Claymore heavy shotgun, Locust SMG, Predator Pistol taking on the Collector's base. The build and strategy is heavily inspired by m14567, thanks man! Insanity difficulty, forgot to show, but it is obvious anyways. I had to cut some loading screens and cutscenes to get under 15 minutes.
Thane and Miranda are in squad for the whole mission. Both have Unstable Warp.

@StockRod55 No. Reave cannot be used to initiate a biotic combo. You either use slam or pull so that you free up a squadmate space should you want biotic explosions. Slam is quicker, and pull frees up the advanced training skill to take reave or stasis or whatever. Basically like this.

I use Jack (gameplay wise) mostly for Warp Ammo. It's a very good all-around Ammo with only weakness against Shields. Funny enough, she and Miranda make a good combo, since Miranda has Overload to disable Shields. Tali is another good canditate against Shields, but she is not good with Organic enemies like Miranda is, and ME2, unlike ME1, has mostly Organic enemies.

If she would be truly superior to other choices than I would have chose her. But she is same level like others. Only the game claims she is special. No in-game bonuses sadly.

I mean she's powerful on Veteran and below due to super short cooldowns on Mass Pull or Shockwave. (Yes i'm responding to 8 years old comment.)

@JammyGit07 Yeah, I do have Miranda in squad, but her bonus is rather small - 15% damage bonus (which actually gives me 0.15*400 extra damage per one Claymore shot), but I do like her for her Warp (Unstable).

Awesome suicide run. Very nice Warp explosions on those platforms, those collectors never knew what hit them. You destroyed 3 tubes at once (11:33) without shooting. Have you ever tried taking all four down in one go?

@MrBozorgmehr You are stuck on a smaller construction if you destroy all 4 tubes in one go. It is very easy to do with a Soldier and AR. Biotics sometimes do work against the tubes, sometimes they do not..so it is more about luck I guess. It is still better to take down 3 and then the last one - you will have access to unlimited ammo (on the platform I shoot from in this vid).

I'm playing through the Legendary Edition on insanity with my canon Shep, who is a vanguard. I picked slam for my bonus power in ME2. It's been really hard so far and i'm still early in the game (Garrus and Mordin only recruits so far), but this gives me hope that if I keep trying I can dominate.

@StockRod55 I do not like Reave, it's cooldown is too long for my tastes. Slam is the best option for me for sure :)

I feel like atleast for me2 best bonus power for vangaurd is reave, energy drain and slam. For me3 (alteast for me) its reave, lash, stasis, flare (my modded version), dark channel

Has anyone else experienced a glitch where hitting the valves (like at 1:33) doesn't reset the timer that kills the specialist? I played vanguard (and was trying to get the insanity achievement) and thought that it was intended so I charged through all the enemies and died 100 times before finally making all 8 in the time it gives you for one. But here the timer barely goes down, is this how it was intended?

@mjcullen108 Yeah, Champion gives you more bang for your buck, but Destroyer is not very different, in the end, the difference between the two evolutions is negligible.

How did you?... I can't even imagine doing this. I seem to only be able to play as infiltrator... Slowly sniping behind cover - How don't you instantly die when you charge? I come out of cover for a second, uncloaked and i INSTANTLY lose shields and generally die... =/
