As you said it makes sense to have the smaller unit smaller space, not only because of power consumption but because of how humidity works. A big unit can circle through all air in the room in a matter of a few mins, however it takes long time for your walls and furniture to dissipate humidity into air (not hours but days). Means dehumidifier needs to wait for the air to get humid again. So bigger dehumidifier is not necessarily better for smaller space.

I take my words back. upon running the smaller 12L unit I have discovered that it runs twice as much as the larger 25L unit. it makes no sense to buy the smaller unit. just go with the 25L unit and place it in some central area in your home. away from bedrooms to avoid noise issues. I used energy monitoring plugs and found this out. I suspected the smaller 12L brand new unit kicking in excessively . especially when I ran the larger unit on a lower humidity to the smaller units level to keep the smaller unit switched off in the bedroom. however despite the lower humidity in the home the smaller unit kept powering up unnecessarily and consuming at times more electricity then the larger 25L unit. I now feel the energy efficiency isn't much a factor and buying a larger unit for home use is better than buying 2 smaller units . duxx 30l dehumidifier now seems like a good option in view of above facts. despite consuming 400w it might run less then thesis units

All 3 of your Meaco dehumidifier will eventually stop working. The LCD control panel will totally fail & stop working. These dehumidifiers are made in China which uses cheap components causing the dehumidifiers to brake down. This is a very common fault around the UK where many people have complained that the dehumidifier has just stopped working. I’ve had mine 8 months only used about 6 times & it has already broken down. malfunctioned. £260 is a lot of money to spend on a product that doesn’t last a year. I’ll be returning mine for a full refund.

hi, thanks for your insight. so what do you suggest to buy at this price point here in uk. i searched a lot and every other dehumidifier had some sort of catch attached to it. either there was no hepa filter or the ones with hepa filters were north of £500. i assumed the company provided 5 year warranty so it was safe to buy these.

I am using this since 2020... It is plugged in like a fridge working non-stop, never turned off with humidity level set to 50.
