Mate, your video helped me a lot! I never disassembled a dehumidifier, and I have the same model as you. I followed your video and I managed to get it cleaned properly! Thumbs up to you!👍

thank you so much! I had dismantled it, replaced the thermal fuses (hoping that would fix it) but then it was giving a fault that the (empty) tank was full. I realised I'd put the sensor back in the wrong place, so watched your video to see where it should be! it disappeared off the bottom of the screen a bit, but it massively helped me to work out where it was supposed to go! thank you so much! :-)

Hello, thank you your video. I have one of these and regularly hoover the dust from it to keep the filter dust free. However it has started to turn itself off before the water tray if full. Do you have any advice on how to fix please? Thanks

That's an odd one, do any lights come on or flash or anything?

That's an AWESOME video! Thank you for this! My parents have the exact same model and after a 3 year very extensive usage at their house, there seems to be a water leakage...I haven't tried it. I will let it run in my apartment tonight. In any case, before starting de-assembling, I thought it would be wiser to ask you..Maybe you know better...thank you anyway!

Thanks! I had a leak on my other and after tearing it all down I realised it was just the water outlet, it was blocked with fluff and other stuff, worth sticking something in there first I'd say, good luck and keep me informed.
@dimiparty774 жыл бұрын
@@ziksfix I fixed it! Thanks to you of course...! It was full of fluff and wet dust inside the condenser and it blocked one of the two holes from where the water drops to the water box. I thoroughly cleaned ALL the interior because it was INSANE how dusty it was!!! (I kept photos and videos if you want to send) I washed most of the parts and as for the parts that could not be washed I used a hair dryer at my balcony to send off the dust and after that carefully cleaned all the internal non-washable parts with wet wipes. It is now working perfectly AND looks like new! Thanks once more for spending so much time and effort creating this video and posting it in order to help people like me. Cheers! Best regards from GREECE 🇬🇷!

@@dimiparty77 That's great, I'm glad it was just a simple fix, yeah I'd like to see the pictures of how dusty it was, do you have before and after pics of it? So glad you found the video helpful, makes it worth my while!

Hello! My humidifier has broken - its giving the symbol thats its always full. The plastic pin in the water tank above the styrofoam magnet is broken. Do you think this is the problem? I read somewhere that it could be the magnetic reed switch. Not sure if youd be able to give a bit of advice if its an easy fix!! Thanks :) :)
@clairegreenwood19104 жыл бұрын
Hello Hannah, did you resolve your problem. I’ve got a similar problem, whereby it turns itself off as if the water tray is full, but when I take the tray out to empty it, it is only half full. Something it making it turn off. Unfortunately, I would not be able to take it apart. I’ve never taken anything apart and wouldn’t have a clue.

I took it apart and then out it together but somehow I'm left with 8 screws ☹️ and don't know from where.. can't remember where they go
@ziksfix4 жыл бұрын
That happens to me so often, either take it apart again or just label them as spares and go about your day haha

Hiya, any ideas on what causes a C4 error, I've had two now and both have failed after a month of use.
@ziksfix4 жыл бұрын
I think that might be a different model to this one going by Google? I've not seen that model but I'd just do a good clean and see if anything obvious stands out and try to eliminate possible causes, if it's broken and can't be returned then not much to lose by taking it apart I suppose.

the film maker probably has more idea than I do! but ours had that fault, and replacing the thermal fuses has fixed it. (parts £3.99 from ebay). I didn't put it back together properly, so was very grateful for this video to help me!

So how old is it and does it work well in the garage?
@ziksfix4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure on the age, has to be a few years going by the yellowing of the plastic but I've had it in the house and it's a great little unit, draws a lot of water out considering how burnt the desiccant wheel is.

Hi I’m just been putting my Medco dd8l dehumidifier back together I’ve got a connector with a red and a green wire at the end of it there is a small black plastic casing with two tiny brushes but I don’t know where it goes can anyone help I think it’s come off the black casing where the fan turns
@ziksfix3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like the negative ion brushy thingies (no idea what they're called), assuming that's what they are I'm pretty sure they go just above the fan and they poke through the black fan housing near the outlet, if KZbin comments allowed for pictures it would be so much easier to explain.

@@ziksfix thanks for the info I’ve put the dehumidifier back together and left it dangling in the case Pictures would be a great help

@@james5878 I mean, if you don't use the deioniser I don't suppose it really matters but I don't know how to get a picture to you, if you do decide to open it up again there should be 2 obvious holes for the bushes to poke through above the fan on the black fan shroud.
