Need to make cyl heads out of plexi glass and run the wires like spark plug wires and put amp on top of the valley plate like a carb

That's a pretty cool idea for a custom box. Headers as tuned ports that don't take up internal box volume, cool. Why didn't I think of that. Now I wonder how that box volume matches up with some 6 1/2 CT Sounds or some Sundowns. Thanks for showing us Steve.

Tbf they all started popping near 600w a piece (3500w/6 is like 580? And 1200ish on 2) so the max rating seems pretty accurate. I think they'd take 400w clean in a good box per sub. Pair of these in a small hatch could be interesting for a cheap giggle

Anybody that doesn't like this design is just a hater, this design is pretty cool super custom, no matter if it sounds good or doesn't sound good it is pretty custom, out of all the custom boxes I've ever seen this is actually well built and put together pretty cool all they got to do is slap some paint on it and slap some plastics on it and it will probably make it look like a real engine and then everybody will be (d i c k) riding on it but you give it a thumbs down something's wrong with you all you the speakers are small but it's about the design there's six of them and it's a hatchback it will bang

Build heads out of a clear acrylic and run amber LEDs over the subs in the clear heads to make it look as if you are getting combustion and use custom smart stickers that give you animation of what happens internally in a real engine if you can get custom stickers made. I know they make animated stickers that do a eq animation you can stick on your rear winshild to move to the music so maybe you could get in touch with them on making custom stickers for this application. This block setup is made to look like a under head cam so animation for push rods and lifters or maybe even a programmed system to lift them individually like a mechanical timing would be done in a real engine with servos and electric motors. It would be cool for a sound system in a car guys garage.

Id say they did good as hell for 6.5in speakers to handle 600 watts at .8ohm. They denfitly worth the money if ur not looking for really big crazy loud bass

There’s something simultaneously frustrating and amusing about letting the smoke out of a sub. Last time I popped one, I finished it off with double rated power and a lot of clipping. Pulled it out, former was crushed on the bottom and one coil lost continuity.

Lanzar Max they ok I had 1 15 max on a Mb Quart onyx 1000 1d. it was ok but that was before I knew how to wire down the ohm's load on subs But now the Lanzar Distinct subs and the Lanzar OptiDrive subs them joints bang bang Steve I love this box what a bad ass unique idea for a box.

Lanzar fuck up when they sold there company in the mid 90's it never was the same again. i had the big purple ultra drive amp back in the day they had some good product then.

MRPIPPER1000 yeah, Lanzar was awesome in the mid 90’s. Still makes me sad that Pyramid bought them out and turned the product to shit. I had the 1000 watt opti drive amp, their top of the line running two DC 15’s in my truck. Also had a set of components 5.25” and the matching opti drive amp. Still one of the best systems I have had. I still have the speakers but the amps got stolen 😢. The amps came with a 5 year warranty and the subs had a 3 year warranty, they stood by their products back then.

Remember back in the day plugging Rockford pro punches into electrical outlets. They would not blow unless you took them out of the boxes. House current is 60 Hz too.

My problem with the cheap Lanzar speakers is they use the wrong type of glue or not enough when they glue the magnet to the frame so when it gets warm the glue comes loose and the coil gets trapped between the frame and the motor structure thought about drilling through the magnet into the frame under the spider and slipping in some roll pins but not sure if those speakers are worth the time

I bought one of those Lanzar max pro 6.5 subs just for shits and giggles then spent 5 times the price of the woofer building a box for it it’s .8cuft tuned to 35hz and it blew my mind what such a tiny sub could do in the right box I put it in the back of a 2018 GMC Yukon and that thing shakes the side mirrors so bad they have to be readjusted every time I get in the car

I have the two 12 inch and a true 1,000 watts to each of them and let me tell you they are so loud and clear you would not believe!! They only cost around $120.00 for the pair!! Who says you have to break the bank for good sound!! What some guys spend is just crazy!!! My brother and I have built a lot of system that were really loud and sound great for not so much money. What did this guy expect throwing the power at them like he did??!! I think the did pretty dam good considering. Sorry but he is NOT going to get that much better of a sub and what spend like $100.00 each for them!! their only 6 1/2s!!

"This guy" has subs named after him that Rockford Fosgate built that people have literally plugged them into the wall outlet in their house for a substantial length of time and it didn't even get them warm! "Highly suggest that nobody tries this at home" I can assure you that he was fully aware what was going to happen to these subs when he hooked them up to his test bench and all of the meters that if you payed close enough attention to had his name all over. Much more videos on his channel showing other things not as destructive, and some that are!! Lol I hope you do look at some other videos and this one didn't turn you off to the S.M.D. channel here! Dude those 12 dollar a piece subs handled 3500 watts. Most people aren't running that much with their kicker amps or whatever. 500 watts maybe. Those subs would be just fine for a beginner with a very nicely built box.

20Hz 1300w...i´m a bit surprised that you get smoke :D I remember back in 1999-2000 maybe. I build a bandpass enclosure for 2x12" Alumapro subs.Those subs were brand new then..i mean the first imported in Finland and i was honored to test them at the first time. I drove them with Mmatch hi current amp (also firs imported in Finland) I gave them 20Hz with about 1800w the box was in a small Bmw e30 car and i could not even breathe. It was unbelievable. So i opened the window to dry a bigger space and it blew my hat out of the window right away :D I didn´t burn them, but those were slightly more expensive than 12$ a piece :D
