"It wasn't less mumbo jumbo that is punters craved, but more". Hahaha, too true.

I notice as usual the middle class smart-arse sneers at Christian figures: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Predictably keeps well clear of Islam. How brave! What integrity!

This is my opinion only, I can't speak for Jonathan Meades and its quite probable that he wouldn't and doesn't want me to. It's also quite possible that he'd disagree with me. With that said.... What an unutterably stupid, facile and pointless comment to make. No reason to be surprised there. This is obviously a program about post-WWll Anglican Church building and absolutely nothing to do with Islam. A lack of integrity would have forced in a ridiculous false equivalence. There is no comparable exercise in mosque building in Britain as Islam is a minority religion regardless of what various hysterics might need people to feel. Take note of the date of production and release, 1997. 4 years before people who couldn't be bothered before decided that Muslims were/are the enemy of everyone. This is a program about the confluence of Anglicanism and modernist architecture presented by a noted atheist and humanist with an interest in English customs and mores and how a mere surface appreciation is always less than the whole. Watch it again and engage your brain and critical faculties. That's not a difficult thing to do.

He has criticised Islam just as viciously in other documentaries. He speaks honestly on all manner of subjects.
