@@joi12345678it’s a biblical concept. 1 Samual 15:22. Obviously that doesn’t mean you have to agree with it, but that’s just some context. God prefer His children obey Him rather than merely offering sacrifices (like the Israelites did). Sacrifices (tradition) can be used to make one feel they are aligned with God, when really the true test of our love and fidelity to God is through obeying His commands.

Devon should not have married Meagan. I think he thought the Lord would change her because she somewhat had a relationship with Him. The thing is, we can both know God and have a completely different way in which we are surrendered to Him. The two were just unequally yoked. Meagan is committed to her lukewarmness. It is sad that a lot of “Christians” explain their relationship with God as something transactional. This is a very distorted view of God and even more so what the Bible teaches. Right when she mentioned going through a divorce after 10 years, similar to her parents, I thought about how recognizing patterns like that can be a sign of generational curses.
