Long time Pixies fan. I’m old and grew up with indie rock and grunge and alt rock. Obviously I’m a purist so the Pixies are it for this song for me.....however, if I was out and this lady did this cover in a bar somewhere like this I would be so pumped that it was still this relevant I might cry. Wonderful homage!!!...hats off to you me lady.

I love the Pixies and several hard core punk versions. But check your preconcieved notions at the door and just love this song. She takes what was such a hard edged piece of music and makes it wistful. Kudos Miss Smith!

That's your opinion. I find it amazing that Meaghan Smith could give us a different interpretation of the lyrics. It really gives you a different view on the song. Both version is great in their own aspect, but none of the version sucks. You just prefer the original version by the pixels while people who likes cute, innocent love songs prefer this one.

I like this version too. In case you guys forgot, this version was recorded for the (500) Days of Summer movie. This version fits the mood of the film a lot more which is what it was supposed to do. The original is great but this one is good too.

"A big, big stone fall" and "is a wind makes a palm stop blowing" are obviously attributes of an atomic bomb. The controversy this song addresses is that the US should've given the Japanese more time to consider surrendering after the first bomb at Hiroshima - "Never wait so long."
