Wow, Great video! I appreciate how detailed and easily achievable all the steps are.

Oh hey there bro! 😊

A cost breakdown would be great. Also, what is the calorie content per finished bag? Lastly, what was your transition time for you dog when "leaving" canned or kibble/etc. and going to a mostly raw/meat based diet, so as not to get gastric distress? Thank you! 🐕🦺🐶🐕

Great questions! You’ve given me an idea for another long form video😊 The hamburger is the bulk of the cost but with everything I prepped in the video it comes to about $1.77/meal for 52 meals at one meal per day. The 4oz. hamburger is about 330 calories. The 6oz of the “mixture” is probably 400 cal. Since it’s a mix of livers, broccoli, carrots, nutritional yeast, pumpkin seeds and puree. Totaling about 700 for the whole 10oz bag. don’t have the exact number, I apologize. I also give her a couple pumps of salmon oil which adds some calories, along with an optilife supplement powder from Alpha Dog nutrition. I can’t remember exactly the transition time but I know it was at least a few months. She came to me with a bag of kibble, I started slowly adding little things here and there. Cooking the chicken gizzards/livers for a while, tried out the freeze dried stuff (so expensive!), tried Sundays, the Catherine Heigle food, the tubes at Costco, it just ended up being cheaper to make it myself. I hope this helps! I know I was apprehensive at first but there’s so many pros to feeding a more homemade diet. I ran out of her food a few months back so I grabbed a couple of those tubes from Costco with the cooked meal/grain free to hold her over for a week until I could make more of her food. I noticed her face/saliva started to smell sour after a few days on that food. As soon as I switched back to my homemade stuff, the smell went away. She’s been eating this way over a year and I can only say positive things about it.
