I love chicken salad. I do add grapes, I know grapes aren’t good for Mr Wayna, but I also add either a few walnuts or almonds. I love the extra crunch. I need to get busy and make some chicken salad, you made me start to crave some 😊

If you put a container of frozen rice in the microwave to defrost, place 3 ice cubes on top of the rice, and cover it. When it's done, the ice cubes will help steam the rice, but they won't melt! It's amazing to see. It happens when you reheat rice from the fridge as well! Just make sure it's covered.

I was surprised that you didn’t make your own mayonnaise unless you’re definitely into just Miracle Whip. With all your lovely chickens, it’s so easy to make mayonnaise. Roughly, one egg, to one cup of oil. The oil I use is avocado. The rest of it is just the seasonings to your taste, such as salt, pepper, lemon juice or vinegar, store bought mustard, turmeric. 😊

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers. Like roses, without thorns! My partner, who is pre-diabetic, has cooked (white) rice with coconut oil. Not only does it help with starch resistance, it also cuts the calories by half. It does have a really mild coconut taste to it, but not off-putting enough that you cannot use it with other things.

Just wanted you to know that I used my Vevor meat slicer (bought after your review) to slice a big boneless ham really thin. Worked great with little effort. Not too keen that you need a tool to take the blade off for cleaning (They could have included it.), but I loved how it sliced!😊

Hi Renea and John! I live peonies and I have 5 of them, they smell so beautiful. That was nice to give you the bacon for the pizzas. Hey Renee!! You might know this, but a service man said never ever use harsh cleaners, dawn power wash or any Windex type cleaner on your stove control panel. It will cause damage to the sensors.

Tuna mac salad, you and me both! ha! Ours has peas in it. That chicken dish with the rice is a homerun! 🔵⚪🔵 NUM! I got in trouble for not chopping onions small enough last Saturday for Tuna Mac salad.. lol She picked them out, on a paper plate (didn't chop them, threw them), said to me, "Would you like that?", she said. Actually, I wouldn't mind! haha No talking back to this Boss Lady! 😁 Good idea, your meat slicer would make easy work of that cabbage!

I don't drink wine either but so many people have a glass with dinner or relaxing in the evening, I can't help wonder what i'm missing. I have never been a drinker. I love cabbage steaks but mine always loose the out side rings and end up burnt around the edges. Is that because I didn't wrap them?

That is why I wrap mine.

Hi Renea, please don't believe everything you hear about starch resistance. Cooking pasta and rice and letting them cool does not make them better for diabetics to eat. I am diabetic and I cannot eat rice or pasta at all. Eating cold pasta still elevates my blood sugars. Eating cooled and reheated rice also elevates my blood sugars. Potatoes that are boiled and the water drained off (as for mashed potatoes) are ok for me to eat. Also, maybe add a little more fat to John's diet to help with hunger issues. I hope this information helps.
