As a mountaineer living in Scotland, I always stop for anyone hitching in places like Dalwhinnie, Glencoe etc., if they're wearing hiking gear. When I was in my early 20's I couldn't afford a car, but still had loads of fun on the hills. BTW the local community are campaigning for more trains to stop at Dalwhinnie station. I always found trains better than buses. Nice film, thanks.

Now I feel guilty for cursing the roadworks and traffic on the A9 on what was, in reality, a stress free car journey to bag this hill yesterday.

The A9 is my gateway to heaven! Be glad you have a car and can cruise freely on it, albeit with roadworks around ;) Hope you had a good hike!

I did, thank you. For me, the A82 is my gateway to heaven, the hills on the West coast. I realise how much more difficult it must be to organise a day in the hills when you have to rely on public transport. I hope you have many more happy days on the Scottish hills.
